Starting on Wednesday, July 27th (tomorrow), we will be doing regular weekly restarts of the DDO game worlds. These weekly restarts will take place starting at 9:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT) every Wednesday. This is being done to promote the general health of the game environment. Click here for your local time.

NOTE: We'll put an estimated uptime up after we work through this enough to be confident in our process, but the estimated downtime should be around an hour or so.

NOTE: When the worlds reopen, it will take up to an hour for guild airship amenities to repopulate.

That's a very common and absolutely valid answer for every MMORPG, especially when it comes to patches or unexpected issues "soon"(TM) or "when it's done".

You gravely need to send urgently your employees for learning into CCP Games. They do DAILY servers restart, and it's about 20 min average.

Server work you typically don't put in resolution times as part of your SLA's unless all you're responsible for is the delivery of parts or something. If all you do is is provide warranty hard drives or something then yes, a 4 hour SLA on delivery is possible. If you do any sort of diagnostics or full scope work then I've only ever seen SLA's discuss communication. "We will notify you of a problem within 30 minutes and give you updates every hour" or something similar.

someone greased up the "on" switch again didn't they? in all seriousness thank you for doing these restarts it's nice to see the attempt to clear up things that can cause lag in game and hey stuff happens that causes delays all the time in technology, I routinely lose systems for hours on end and I work for a corporation in the fortune top 50 list that has a much larger dedicated staff to do this stuff.

Sooo, five hours for a "restart" so far. Any idea yet when you will actually restart any of the servers??
