Hey there. I note there's not announcement of this on the launcher (or twitter), might want to have something on there as I had a couple buddies who don't follow the forums at all who were confused / concerned and thinking about calling Turbine support. They do follow twitter however so it might be a good idea to tweat when the restart begins and ends as well.

    Thanks,

Just a heads up that we will not be doing our regular weekly restart tomorrow (October 19th). We're still working to get U33 released, and are hoping to release it on Thursday, so we felt it was better to just have one downtime instead of two.
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!

Try to take as much time as you need for U33, although I understand that may not be your guys decision.

So...anything you want to tell us about tomorrow (Thursday) regarding the game servers, Cordo?

Surprise, it is Wednesday this week.

I am a fan of these restarts and the opportunity to get in one or two bug fixes each week.

    Default Improvements please. :)

I am very glad the game is on weekly matience to help the game's performance. I would really like it if DDO would make a few improvements. Please allow more friends in the Friend's List for each character. I play several toons and I would really like to know when any of my friends from all my friend's lists are on line. I may want to switch toons simply because I like a certain friend. I also never know which friends are active and have been inactive. I really don't like taking toons off my friend's lists. It saddens me. If DDO would permit, I would really like to see both bottle bags and scroll folders. I end up having an entire toon holding the bottles I want to keep. I also have another toon for the scrolls I wish to keep. Also I have a tendency to run out of potions and scrolls when I'm at a pivotal point in a quest. Like Hireling Folders and Augment bags, we would benefit from Scroll Folders and Bottle (or Potion) Bags. I have been hoping for these three things for years. Many people agree with me about the folders and bags, and my personal greatest desire is more friends on the Friends' List. Please see what you can do to make this happen for us.

When potion bags and scroll cases were brought up in the past, one of the biggest stumbling blocks would be that you couldn't use the item from inside the container. I know that they were looking, when time allowed, to see if there was a way around that, but it didn't look like a good possiblity last I knew.

May I suggest that you upload small packet patches instead of large fixes and the like? Easier to resolve issues when you're loading things one at a time than ten at a time.

I think that would go a long way in expediting resolutions, rather than saying that you have an update with 5 hours of downtime expected, that we still don't have the worlds open or stabily open for over 24 ...

Solves the research work as well, trying to cipher down 1 among 10 vs 1 and only 1 change. Seems like a win-win on both angles.

A lot of players would be happy with these as-is, to just have the storage even if you can't instantly use them from there. You slot them ahead of time on a hotbar, that greys out when the scroll/pot goes into it's storage container, and you have to go into Inventory and pull it out to use it, and the hotbar link goes live when you do. No instant use, but many of us could live with that (and it seems rather "in character" to not have it on the fast-draw anyway) - use an inventory slot for those pots/items that are "must use NOW".

Ya its weird. Normally a restart only takes a few minutes.. I guess they either forgot to add they are going to patch something, or they restarted and something bad happened.

I know you sometimes leave the test server up during down times and i was wondering if there was any plans to have a server left up during the wed down times like turbine used to leave the PK server up on Asherons call during weekly maint?
