The use of + means that:
Basic is 0 (ok 1) / 50 / 100.
+150 makes it 150 / 200 / 250
+175 makes it 175 / 225 / 275
+150 + 175 makes it 325 / 375 / 425
Seems perfectly clear to me.
Thus this does not in any way imply that the difficulty of the ML shard (an entirely different shard) you may or may not have crafted yet should influence the difficulty of crafting an effect shard. Those have nothing to do with each other until you add them to the item.

My question.
Will deconing items still give xp and if it does will it still cap at 5xp?
tier 1 and tier 2 effects is what I think this means. that tier 3 effects can't be unbound and insightful.
Which brings up my question: is the 400 a hard cap, or can it be exceeded by arti levels and dragonmarks thereby allowing some of these effects at a low chance. (on the other hand I don't want human arti to be mandatory for a viable crafter) I assume crafting boosters would push over but I don't think it would be enough to hit these shards if it scales like current system.
well that is part of my question..
Lets say I craft a Min level 8 Prefix + min level 8 suffix + min level 8 bonus+ empty augment slot... does this = level 8 equippable..
or is there some level penalty factoring that will increase the equipable level..
the other part was.. will the crafted shards be clearly defined..
~Will the prefixes clearly define them as prefixes
~Will the Suffixes clearly define them as suffixes
~Will the bonus clearly define them as bonuses..
the descriptions in almost every crafted shards is terrible and does not clearly state what kind of shard it is.. is it a prefix/suffix/bonus... most of the time we had to craft and trial to figure out where the [expletive] it actually slotted..
things like 'Proof against Poison' was one that caused issues..(apparently we learned later it was bugged)
it slotted as a prefix and a suffix depending on whether you slotted it first or second..
The description gave no indication as to what it was actually supposed to be... after a lot of forum drama it got sort of resolved... sort of...

Again, you are thinking in the old terms. You first have to craft a ML shard, and add that to the item (that will set the ML of the item), then you put the effects on.
Now there may be some effects that can't be added to a ML8 item (for example) but everything else will scale to the max value you could get for a random gen item that is ML 8.
Masterful Craftsmanship will now give you a 3rd effect on an item, or at least the use of the Mark of House Cannith.
From the first crafting post:
Although Cannith will follow the slot restrictions of effects that Random Loot has, a player does get to choose which effects go on the slots of the item. This is a big advantage of random loot where you have to luck out in the RNG to get all of the effects you want at the powers you want. The system will still have a Prefix and Suffix. If a Mark of House Cannith is used, it will have a 3rd extra effect just like Random Loot.
That would be a strange POV in a game of character progression. Just as the character level cap has been increased several times but "max level" characters didn't jump to the new max level, the same will be true for this system. Doesn't make sense that it would be any other way.

I bet we'll find a post of yours saying "Gosh, I was level 20 and they raised the cap to 30. Not putting me automatically at level 30 with no effort on my part is a slap in the face! I should have all the additional power that comes with the cap increase with no effort because gosh darnit I'm special"

how does this have to do with duping. you change all essences into one type of essence. no loose in materials. instead of having 2-5 materials for a shard you have 1-2 materials for a shard. in stead of having 6 shards for strength 1-6 you craft 1 shard for strength its + value is what level the equipment is so 1 to what 16 at level 30, no clue what lvl 30 random loot strength is. random loot lvl 20 gear can have a +7,8,or 9 that is much better then a lowly 6 in C. Crafting.
this is not about what you think it is about. it is making a system that is mostly useless above level 12 to being able to make 1-2 items with buffs or stats at lvl 30 that is missed by raid gear. to be able to fill in the holes.
i can handle a 50% more grind to be able to craft level 30 gear. making cannith crafting viable again from level 12 to 30 thats fair in my book.
If I have some old ML20 cannith crafted loot that "should" have been more than ML 20 (+5 Holy Burst [weapon type] of Greater Evil Outsider Bane), will the ML on that weapon change after the crafting pass? Or will my existing cannith crafted items remain as they are now?
