Default How to stop desktop lighitng when game starts ?

My problem is when I start DDO the game brightens up my background ( desktop ).
When it does this, it makes it so I can not see some things on websites, in particular box lines, i.e. Search box for google, any lines that are on a page, are brightened to the point you cant see them.

In the game it brightens up to the point where I cant even tell if a puzzle piece is facing, or if its lit up or not lit up.

Messing with the in game Gamma, Brightness, Contrast, does not help. I still cant see the puzzle that well.
Should I adjust the computers levels of color , brightness, gamma etc?

I may have to take some screen shots to help give a better visual of what is going on.

Any one else experience this ? I do play in windowed mode.

Play with the gamma and brightness in the Advanced settings.

Thats one of the first things I did. Now this was messing with them in the game, and even though I would move them around, the quality of the screen is horrible. I still can not see puzzle tiles clearly and be able to tell if they are lit up or not. Messing with the gamma and brightness in the game still doesnt affect what the game does to my desktop.
The game brightens my computer screen overall.
I did how ever find a temporary solution and that was I opened the Radeon Graphics program and on there you can also set gamma, brightness, saturation, etc... I dont mess with any of those, I do however hit the default setting button and when I do the screen ( desktop , websites, lines, and the game become more visible and better to see.
I wish the game didnt mess with my settings at all.

Do you have F.lux running in your background?
That's literally the only reason my screen lights up when I start the game.
All I do is go back to desktop and doubleclick the preview circle. It runs 24 animation and goes back to being normal Warm and Yellowish tone.

Mine will do the same thing, depending on my game brightness setting.

If my brightness is at 100% it changes nothing.
But the game is so dark, I need to turn it up (usually to 120%), and when I do (or leave it there), I get th esame thing you say you are getting. It brightens everything else as well.

So basically, my work around, is to wait until I get into a quest, and give DDO my full attention, to raise my brightness.

It does it because ddo is sucking the life from your tv. Even once you quit the game the brightness will remain as a sign of the trauma.

the problem is this game makes everything to dark, forcing you to turn up gamma to see, when you do that, (Duel screen_) it will also adjust your 2nd screen there is nothing you can do. The only fix is better in game lighting.

When DDO launches it overwrites the current colour profile with its own. The only way to change this is with the 3 display sliders, there is no known way to stop it doing this though.
When I alt+tab out of DDO from full screen the colour profile goes back to normal.
If bright things are too bright then try turning the bloom(?) slider down, setting that too high washes everything out.
