Im logged on talking to them now, instead of just reporting a suicidal person on the weekends when there is no support.

I am just flabbergasted at the behavior of you 2 right now. Im so mad I am done interneting for today.

EDIT: Talked them down, got them to reconsider all of this and showing that the GM's maybe don't have the manpower to really follow up with reports like this, they logged off before I could get them to a suicide hotline link. I hope they are OK.....

It's rather childish to misuse LFMs like that. Sounds to me just like a frustrated person, not a suicidal person.

Either way, seeing that that there is a mental health crisis in the US and lack of mental health support. And I have a personal view on these things, I would expect the DDO community to help rather than report. But I did my part and I can rest at least somewhat easy today.

His or Her's concern was that people where telling him to kill themselves in game. He reported them and the GM's said told him to get out the game with no research into the individual. I don't know if that is true or not, but whatever. If you read this a***ry then I want to let you know if this was a Blizzard game. There would of been more manpower and follow up. Maybe GM's at DDO are not trained to handle this sort of thing, but with all that is going on in the world I would implore for Turbine to atleast give a player a suicide hotline # at the very least. The player in question thought that DDO was a safe place. But with the downsizing of manpower I don't believe turbine is prepared to help in this kind of situation. And TBH they don't have to do anything, but I would think it would be humane to atleast try and do something.

Yikes, scary stuff and mental health issues is no joke. Thanks to you all for helping that person(s). I hope they get the help they need. I would hope the majority of community would have done as you have to help those in need. Turbine should have a number at least that a GM can tell to those who seem in need of real world help to call.

There is always much more to a scenario then what the one person describes, which it sounds like you do recognise so am just mentioning it so others reading have a thought to more then what is being said here. I do not know the individual well though have seen a lot of it going on with that person for a while (his venting out on the game).

From the very little i know about the circumstance from the bits i could watch from afar, the moderators/game representatives have done as much as they are able to in order to support the person. It also sounds like his mental health is slowing driving him in to a psychosis as his initial vent (lfg on another server) was to relay upset over being banned (sometime apporx 4-6 weeks ago). He is currently spinning that in his mind to the current lfg status you see. I had conversed in tells to which he mentioned that he had support locally for what he is dealing with, to what degree or what truth there is no one but him and those nearby him will know for sure.

We are very limited in the amount of support we can provide someone online. I have tried my best to give him the knowledge to seek assistance, he has replied that he already has it. I feel confident to assume others have tried to offer advice, i also believe there would be many tells of abuse or anger told to him throughout the day. It is up to him to follow through with making use of help locally in his physical environment.

I do not know what emergency services are like in the country he lives, in the one i reside in i know i need to provide evidence of IMEDIATE self harm or harm to others for them to intervene. I would need to provide them the location and what method he is causing the harm as well. Our world does not have the resources to chase up every person that mentions the word suicide. It is very sad that people cry out for help and never get it, unfortunately these things cannot be diagnosed by strangers through a computer monitor.

Moderators on the game are very caring people, they spend their time assisting people which is a very emotionaly exhausting thing to do in life. I strongly feel that the game is doing as much as is reasonably able to be done to help the guy. In this case the person needs help from his local environment and space away from the game until he is able to interact respectfully, rationally and in accordance with the games rules for the environment to which the guys banning him look to be doing as they are banning the accounts to prevent him accessing the environment.

A lot of us gamers are gaming addicts. It is near impossible to provide help to an addict that keeps making excuses for their behaviour and don't accept the help. Please don't judge the management on the servers harshly by heresay and nasty words from someone that (seems to be) bypassing banning protocols intent on disrupting the environment to get things his own way (which is very unrealistic and unrational way he is wanting) .

Cannith has an active psycho on it also. If the player stays on their meds the player is almost tolerable. The player also gets off their meds, says and does really dumb stuff and gets banned. Creates a new account, and rinse and repeat.

I think he's on at least his 4th account now and it seems he can't even get back into his own Guild. But it's always blatantly obvious to anyone who it is even when he does come up with a name that isn't at all similar.

He's ample proof that Turbine's banning policies simply don't work because he keeps coming back and doing the exact same things till he inevitably gets banned again.

He's the main reason why Cannithtrade became the troll channel it now is - He put off many many players from using that channel.
When someone created a Social Channel on Cannith he was amongst the first to join it - That Channel never got off the ground!

The GMs seem to allow a lot more to be got away with in user channels than they would in General/Advice or Trade so this person tends to keep his rubbish in Cannithtrade now at least.
But Putting him on ignore just makes actually figuring out what's going on in Cannithtrade many times almost impossible!
