Default New Discord Channel for DDO Grouping

    Heya DDO'ers!

So I've been reading many of the threads both here and on other websites that talk about how dead grouping seems to be in the game and what server is the most populous and whatnot... So, I've taken it upon myself, along with Technical 13 (aka Shoemaker) to create a new server on Discord that is 100% focused on group/raid/static group/crafting coordination!!

It's a cross server platform with server specific channels to coordinate grouping and static groups with as well as well as raid specific channels...

Additionally, there are FREE voice channels that have quality comparable if not better than that of TeamSpeak/Ventrilo/Mumble... There are several pre-set channels there now but extensiblity is endless!! If you want some guild specific channels, all you have to do is ask... If you want guild specific text channels, same rules apply (just ask!).

Bottom line here is that this server is here for the aforementioned reasons and more! Take some server pride and help out some new players on your server!! If there's more that the community on your server needs, just say the word!!

    We're here for you!!

All you have to do is click the following link: http://discord.me/ddodiscord

OH!! and did I mention that it's 100%, completely FREEEEE!!!!

Happy hunting, and see you on Discord!!

Nice Idea, but would be a lot more enjoyable, if the mods were not power hungry. Banned for not following a rule, that even the mods feel they shouldn't have to follow. 10/10 Good job mods.

Default Close to 3 years now

In light of recent events I'd like to say a very BIG Thank You to the admin and mods on the DDO discord.
In my experience it does what it is supposed to do, to connect the player base better and faster. That has hightened my enjoyment tremendously.

As a result I discovered a lot of other discords, setup my own for german players and am helping out with another one (Orien raiding Discord).
It is a good and easy way to network and get information and help, especially for new players. And to get to know players I never would've encountered cause I never leave Orien.

So thank you very much for this. It is a great deed for the game and the community. I appreciate this enormously.

I just needed to say this.

    Cheers,
    Titus.

    Thumbs up

DDO Discord is the BEST* (wiki also) tool we have for both in & out of game.

Because of YOU people, there are 15 guilds in the last 3 years that have their own channel, and a place to gather. These are the new guilds Ive helped create with new players I met when server hopping and TR'ing.

Most of these guilds are small groups of friends that were/are new players just getting started in DDO and wanted better support for info & communication. I'd log into discord, create the server, invite a few of them, and let them take over and run with it. You've made it VERY EASY for new players to get started, and THAT is one of the best ways how to improve player retention.

When they learned of all the resources on discord, they all have stayed connected and active to DDO.

Thanks to everyone involved and for all the neat work you've done.

(And thanks to SSG staff that interacts with the community there as well.)

    Default Thanks

I just wanted to say thank you for the discord channel. A few of us were using it to help some new people coining back to the game.

I am on arrgonesson and I just put up and LFM In the game and the group fills without minutes every time.

I guess more option are ok, but there is no need for this. We have group lfm and voice chat in game.

You guys over think stuff sometimes

    Hey DDO folks,

So, the TL;DR is that back in August my Discord account was hacked and the account laid dormant. I have been battling with Discord ever since and was literally a day or 2 away from getting servers transferred and then BOOM! everything that I owned on Discord poofed, including the DDO Discord. Jibo and the other DDO Discord staff are in the process of getting a replacement server setup while we all wait on a response from Discord support as to whether or not the server is recovered. So, in the meantime, everyone is invited to join the temporary replacement server using the invite: https://discord.gg/w6T6Hs8.

Please keep in mind that this is right now intended as a temporary replacement but in the event that the DDO Discord is unable to be recovered, this will be the full on replacement for it.

    ~Ague
