Please help me reviving my 3 year old epic Water Savant.

Heyho,

i logged into the game some days ago after absence for over 3 years and would like to play it again if i manage to get back in.
I played last when the epic levels were new and got some reincarnated characters to max lvl 25 (Sorc, Tank, Melee DPS).
For now i try to revive my Water Savant since i liked it best and i need help since i find it hard to understand what changed even when looking into the wiki. It´s just too much information to get an overview.

So here is what i have:

LVL 25 Warforged Water Savant on his second Sorcerer life. Maximum Draconic Incarnation with some traits from other epic destinies like Fey Form, Evocation Specialist and Endless Faith.
Enhancements are nearly all from the Water Savant and some racial toughness from the Warforged tree.

Equipment:
Main Hand: Twilight Element of Magic (Upgraded with +120 Spellpower for Coldspells for SP, Set-Bonus and +3 Evo)
Second Hand: same
Helm: Epic Helm of Frost slotted with exc Charisma(For Abishai, Char +7 and +1 exc Charisma)
Goggles: Greensteel Concordant Opposition with +45 SP (For SP and Exceptional Char Skills)
Armor: Green Dragon Scale Docent (For -10% SP-Cost, Toughness and Resistance)
Necklace Torc of Prince Rayium-de II
- Swap in for all not EE = Greensteel Mineral II with +45 HP (For HP and Exceptional Con Skills)
Trinket: Planar Focus of Erudition with +3 Insightful Char (For +250 Spellpoints and +3 ins char)
Cloak: Envenomed Cloak slotted with Fortification (For Abishai, +7 Constitution and Fortification)
Belt: Telvis Sash (For Watersavant Set and Spellpower Clicky)
Gloves: Charged Gauntlets slotted with Greater False Life (For Abishai, +7 Strength and Greater False Life)
Boots: Epic Boots of Corrosion slotted with +2 Good Luck and +6 Dexterity
Bracers: Epic Scorched Bracers slotted with +1 exc Constitution
Ring 1: Telvis Touch with +2 insightful Constitution (For Watersavant Set and more Con)
Ring 2: +7 Wisdom, +15 Concentration random generated Ring

I was near the top of the food chain with this and want to get back there. But i was kind of shocked to see randomly generated loot with Ability bonuses of 10+.
So am i right that all my epic equipment is kinda worthless now?
What is a top equipment configuration for my character now and how do i get it?
Is a Water Savant still good or shouldn´t i even bother to try to revive it?
Etc,etc,etc...

All I can answer is random loot has been boosted in power and now has a kinda lower ML compared to old loot. For instance you can get items say chr +10 with maybe dex + 10 or lower with the ML of +10 chr only. only . No more int +6 jump +5 ML 15, now that equivalent item will be Ml 13 . The Ml I am quoting is not correct but just to give you the idea.

At lev 25 you could pull a + 9 maybe 10 con with 35 to 45 false life item . Have a look through the auction house to get an idea.

Legendary greensteel ML 26 can have +15 stat, +7 insightful stat +2 exceptional stat all stacking . Its easy to get the 1st 2 tiers +15 and +7 insightful, but you will have to run the new shroud a lot to get higher. .

Take a look at http://ddowiki.com/page/Home for named loot by update to give you and idea what quests to run and how much things have changed. You also have a revamped enhancement set up.

The newish warlock class is certainly more top of the food chain than sorc's.

Seeing as you are lev 25, I would muddle on through , collecting magic items on route until you get to Lev 30 and then decide what to do class wise. this will give you time to get back into the run of things.

You should find groups to run the new quests and legendary quests/ raids pretty easy to get people to join . I see plenty of lfm's for these and I would hope if you mention that you are a returning player that players will pass items to you.

Then you will need to multiclass for crit, crit multiplier, maximum caster levels, more cold SLAs, an SLA to fuel MoK, an SLA to fuel Empyrian magic, and somehow to apply vulnerability with LGS while benefiting from the stats.

I would look at Electric Critzilla in the Arti forum's for an idea of how to do it. I sense a sorc/druid/wiz combo in there somewhere, using a vacuum LGS. Magister? Probably a negative spell power LGS vacuum weapon, in zombie form.

If you don't end up with a self-healing, 70% crit, greater than triple damage crit decent caster let me know. It will be a merger of electric critzilla and the undead shiradi sorc build.

Call it something better than Ice Critzilla. Whitewalker build?

PS: Frost lance SLA hard caps at caster level 11 and is single target, and burst of glacial wrath has no caster level effect. And some SLAs are evo, some are conj.. So you aren't going to ever be uber.

At least with triple stacked crit, crit multiplier, and spell power your death aura will be boss mode. Eth knows more about multiclassing sorcs than I and can set this up if you can't figure it out.

Water Savant is still good, but draconic hasn't scaled as well as other destinies like shiradi as the level cap increased. The sorc wand and scroll mastery no longer gives a massive boost to spellpower which is the biggest advantage sorcs used to have over other casters.

The main thing with a sorc is that you will want ruin, arcane pulse and greater ruin for bosses (27,29,30). Glacial Wrath is really good for you as is master of water (or is it cold- one of those).

Wizards got a bigger boost with master of knowledge, but truthfully they probably needed it.

Big thing is you can get LGS accessory to boost water/cold crit damage and LGS weapons for vulnerability and/or procs, you lose spellpower if you don't have at least one non-LGS weapon or shield since LGS gives no implement bonus.

Vulnerability stacks with sorc awaken elemental weakness: cold so you can get some big damage #s.

I would run to 30 and play at a cap a bit before considering rerolling. If you want a flavor of the month build it isn't pure sorc any more since wand and scroll mastery was fixed. Just like any other class - the top sorcs on Sarlona thrive and perform very very well. So if you love playing sorc you will do fine.

Also ironically scion of the plane of fire might be the best legendary feat for you since it works on ruin, arcane pulse and greater ruin It is best for just about every dps caster.
