    Default Cannot Start DDO Following 08-06-16 Downtime

    Okay so since whatever was done during today's downtime, I can't start up the game any longer. Every time I try, I go through the launcher, it does it quick checks and what every else it does, then gives me a pop-up saying

    'Could not patch file "TurbineLauncher.exe", error 5: Access is denied.'

    I've done some google searches but nothing seems to be useful or relative to DDO, mainly LotRO. I can't do anything such as integrity check, or file verification or anything like that as the launcher closes far to fast after it's ran it's updates checks and then tries to start the game.

    Some assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    I had the same problem. I restarted my computer and learned Windows had an update. After the update for Windows, I started up DDO and it runs just fine. I hope that works for you and any others.

    Yeah, a reboot seemed to fix the issue.

    Strange that. I've never had to reboot my rig following a game update before, explains why I never occurred to me.

    Oh well, least I'm back in-game.
