You can still tank <10 Skulls, I believe, I don't know exactly. 10 is meant to be impossible for now, but it was a funny experience.

If you enjoy tanking, give it a try, you won't be disappointed. I promise.

Forgive my english, I am not a native speaker.

    The story behind the build:

Originally I thought at this build once Legendary raid came out. I was short on alt to farm raid and I had to create a first life that was able to handle at least legendary hard difficulty.
It started as a test/joke build, but level after level I saw increasing potential.
At 30 the build was so good for a first life that I thougt...what is going to happen if I use this build on my main!
I wasn't sure about it, since I never played a tank in ddo, but I was really bored by common build so my main toon turned into a tank for the first time in 10 years!

    Disclaimer:

This build will work great even on a first life toon with 0 tome, tested it myself, but you will need a decent equip.
That said, I am playing it on my main that is almost triple everything and got all +7 stat tome, all +4 skill tome and a bunch of +5 skill tome, with almost all the relevant gear in game, so if you don't have all that stuff I am telling you that you're going to see lower number compared to what I'm about to write, keep that in mind.

What this build is capable of:

    - Tank anything in the game, including Sor'jek on Legendary elite (done) or Xy'zzy + 3 puppy (elite), with no supporting heal (done).
    - Holding aggro against any intelligent mob. Intimidate 140+.
    - Grab aggro till red alert and survive. Only few quest you can't do it is Legendary elite raid, you won't survive it, but you can handle 6-7 mob at time, as I did last TS.
    - Increased party dps especially on bosses, orange named. While holding aggro, other party member don't have to worry about incoming damage much, as well any sneack attack will trigger (be aware, most people do not think about that, all they think is that you are a useless bag of hp doing 0 dps, basically a wasted party slot).
    - Best self healing you ever get on a tank type. I challenge anyone to find a better self-healing tank.
    - Passive party healing with Cleric aura. Normal tick (on myself) 500+, critical 1200+.
    - 335 Healing amplification
    - Devotion spell power 803 without any buff/potion etc.
    - Fortitude save over 100 with no fail on 1.
    - Will and Reflex in the high 70.
    - Raid healing capability.
    - 3,1k + hp without buff.
    - 222 AC
    - 241 prr
    - 118 mrr (this could be even better, just too lazy to grind 3 gnome pl and 1 warlock pl)
    - Extraordinary high energy damage absorption
    - Super Cheap self heal, 1 sec cooldown with "Close Wounds" and "Renewal".

What this build can't do or not good at:

    - Forget solo. This build can only be played in party/raid. (that was my target at least when I came up with this build)
    - You won't be able to kill a single thing, even a stupid bat. DPS <= 0.
    - Low SP pool, but usually I never run out as I don't really need to heal anyone other then myself. I use group healing just while doing elite raid, but if people around you got a decent healing amplification, you won't need to heal that much.
    - You're not immortal I finally managed to die after 2 month I play this build when in search and recscue I got red alert paralyzed by a drow venom while my harper pin on cooldown. That's when I realized that I wasn't highlander!
    - Jump, just don't do it unless you got a clicky or spell (lol)

    15 Cleric / 4 Paladin/ 1 Fighter, PDK (preferred) or Human.

1 level of fighter is essential to me since I got 1 more feat and free access to tower shield, basically 2 feats.

Thought of a tweak on this build. Going with 14 fvs, and 5 paladin. 5 paladin opens up for tier five enhancements on Sacred Defender (+to prr and mrr, and extra armor class). Besides that (i am 99% sure), fvs uses with charisma, and cleric uses wisdom. Going fvs means more sp and maybe better heals (i'm not entirely sure how healing works), this will probably be cool with the new Reaper diff, since that you have to heal the rest of the team, because self-healing have been reduced to almost nothing.

Either way, it's and awesome build. I really like that you make a build which works with first life, i dont see that very often.

    ADD:
Forgot to ask, if it is worth it to go a little with warpriest?

Lol, that was what I was thinking too recently with addition of reaper, going fvs 14 for way more sp and get 5lvl of pally to get more defense, but missing aura really hurt if you used to it like me.

As well cleric doesn't have a cap on low lvl spell (if you go t5 RS) so they hit for a lot and save yourself quite a lot of sp.

Another point in favor of cleric is lvl 15 get you death pact that is really good to have in reaper.

    Fot battlepriest...no

    Triple Heroic & Epic completionist. Eroic : 42/42 - Epic : 36/36 - Iconic : 12/12.

So do you think it's better? Agian, looking at reaper, quests might be longer (speaking of time), and more heals needed. With that being said, fvs looks like an upgrade. And that tier 5 extra amor class and prr/mrr really do a difference i think.

Why no warpriest, it's the enhancement with the most swag! xD
But that AOE boost + healing strike?

I don't know but it's worth trying the fvs as well a pass should come soon so...

You won't have enough AP to get warpriest stuff as well you won't hit anything so healing strike isn't useful and as well long cooldown.

Thanks for the reply. I am currently trying 14 fvs/5/1 on a first life, to see how it works
