sorry not Dire Charge, i meant Stunning Shield
I mixed up the words, due to tpbtoc's comment on Dire Charge.
With Stunning Shield you can get 150+ but only if you invest solely on stun DC and you count temporary boosts/buffs aswell. That means losing Scion of Arborea for Scion of Astral Plane and such decisions, which are not worth it. You basicaly ruin your toon for max DC, but it is only for the record.
I don't know about max Dire Charge dc, it should propably be around 20 less than Stunning Shield
by the way Vanooger do you know if 2 pieces of LGS (oposition) +18% HP stack, for a total of +36% HP??
Hey, since Sacred Defender and Stawart Defender enhancements stack, what do you think of 12 Cleric / 4 Paladin / 4 Fighter? Self heal would be very weak? Because HP and other defenses would be huge.
I love this build! Thanks so much for sharing.
I was thinking you could (1) drop Extra Turning, or drop the second Toughness, for Improved Shield Bash.
That way you will benefit more from Legendary Affirmation since you will be attacking (I assume bashing counts as an attack).
Also, might be less boring than simply blocking--all w/o any penalty to AC.
Other possibilities:
(2) Take Ward Against Evil from Unyielding Sentinel for 10d6 Good damage to Evil enemies that hit or miss you.
There are other great things from Tier 5 US that you have very likely taken already, but not everything in US is defensive so you might be able to fit it in. Anyway, it would be great if you shared your ED choices as well.
(3) Somehow fit riposte into one of your items.
With 2 & 3, here's how to solo (I'm mostly joking here): find a little piece of heavy metal that will hold down your shift key, enter quest, gather mobs for red alert, put piece of metal on shift key, walk away, have nice snack or drink, jog, pay bills, tone cuticles, etc., come back, find all enemies dead, rinse, repeat, until quest is over. It won't work on mobs or bosses that can regenerate, but it might work on everything else.
In any case, I would drop either Extra Turning or the second Toughness feat for Shield Deflection.
Actually, to maximize your concept, I would drop Extra Turning and the second Toughness feat for Shield Deflection and Maximize (for the positive energy burst) before considering Improved Shield Bash. However, the possibilities above can be tapped into with little or no compromise on the overall goal.

[QUOTE=Vanhooger;5829863]I think it's about time to share my new tank build with the DDO community, as few people did ask for it.![]()
If you enjoy tanking, give it a try, you won't be disappointed. I promise.
Forgive my english, I am not a native speaker.
The story behind the build:
Originally I thought at this build once Legendary raid came out. I was short on alt to farm raid and I had to create a first life that was able to handle at least legendary hard difficulty.
It started as a test/joke build, but level after level I saw increasing potential.
At 30 the build was so good for a first life that I thougt...what is going to happen if I use this build on my main!
I wasn't sure about it, since I never played a tank in ddo, but I was really bored by common build so my main toon turned into a tank for the first time in 10 years!
Disclaimer:
This build will work great even on a first life toon with 0 tome, tested it myself, but you will need a decent equip.
That said, I am playing it on my main that is almost triple everything and got all +7 stat tome, all +4 skill tome and a bunch of +5 skill tome, with almost all the relevant gear in game, so if you don't have all that stuff I am telling you that you're going to see lower number compared to what I'm about to write, keep that in mind.
What this build is capable of:
- Tank anything in the game, including Sor'jek on Legendary elite (done) or Xy'zzy + 3 puppy (elite), with no supporting heal (done).
- Holding aggro against any intelligent mob. Intimidate 140+.
- Grab aggro till red alert and survive. Only few quest you can't do it is Legendary elite raid, you won't survive it, but you can handle 6-7 mob at time, as I did last TS.
- Increased party dps especially on bosses, orange named. While holding aggro, other party member don't have to worry about incoming damage much, as well any sneack attack will trigger (be aware, most people do not think about that, all they think is that you are a useless bag of hp doing 0 dps, basically a wasted party slot).
- Best self healing you ever get on a tank type. I challenge anyone to find a better self-healing tank.
- Passive party healing with Cleric aura. Normal tick (on myself) 500+, critical 1200+.
- 335 Healing amplification
- Devotion spell power 803 without any buff/potion etc.
- Fortitude save over 100 with no fail on 1.
- Will and Reflex in the high 70.
- Raid healing capability.
- 3,1k + hp without buff.
- 222 AC
- 241 prr
- 118 mrr (this could be even better, just too lazy to grind 3 gnome pl and 1 warlock pl)
- Extraordinary high energy damage absorption
- Super Cheap self heal, 1 sec cooldown with "Close Wounds" and "Renewal".
What this build can't do or not good at:
- Forget solo. This build can only be played in party/raid. (that was my target at least when I came up with this build)
- You won't be able to kill a single thing, even a stupid bat. DPS <= 0.
- Low SP pool, but usually I never run out as I don't really need to heal anyone other then myself. I use group healing just while doing elite raid, but if people around you got a decent healing amplification, you won't need to heal that much.
- You're not immortalI finally managed to die after 2 month I play this build when in search and recscue I got red alert paralyzed by a drow venom while my harper pin on cooldown. That's when I realized that I wasn't highlander!
- Jump, just don't do it unless you got a clicky or spell (lol)

Hi which stat to be increased every level ? like con and wis balanced really liked this build can it made into pvp build also? I was thinking more of pvp build
Thanks mate. Happy you enjoying it. If you check enhancments I got shield deflection on PDK tree, and as I said on the very first post you could drop Extra turning for maximize if you like
For ED choices http://imgur.com/a/M2Q5L

Constitution. I don't know about pvp to be honest never played it on DDO.

Awesome. Thanks again. Silly me, I missed out on ED and Enhancements, b/c when I saw "images" I thought they would merely be pictures of your character, so I passed. LOL!
Also, after viewing your ED choices, I see that there really isn't room for Ward Against Evil -- not if you are sticking to your overall concept.
Yeah, I saw that you left open the possibility of substituting Maximize or whatever for Extra Turning. That's actually what got me thinking. I was thinking what you could substitute for it.
Anyway, since you already have Shield Deflection from PDK, that is even better news for Improved Shield Bash (and Maximize).
So I would swap Extra Turning for Maximize like you suggested, b/c my guess is that you will get more from maximizing all of your bursts--and, when you need to, cure spells (and/or divine punishment)--than you will get from merely four more bursts; and swap the second Toughness feat for Improved Shield Bashing to proc Legendary Affirmation--and maybe, just maybe, kill a bat while you're at it.![]()

You don't list every source of potency in the main post, so I am doing some digging. So if you equip pansophic circlet:
-14 equipment potency
+4 insight devotion (+61 from your lootgen gloves)
+0 quality potency (+27 from platemail)
Total: -20% positive lore and -10 devotion.
You're right, that's a bad trade.
I'm a long way off from being able to equip a toon like this, but I'm looking ahead to how I want to optimize the gear. Crafting is the biggest standout to me. The slots will definitely have to be moved around a bit - I haven't dug this deep yet to see what slots I'd change, but in the best case scenario:
+4 Con,
+3% positive crit,
+9 equipment devotion,
+18 insight devotion,
+4 heal,
+11 insight heal (didn't see any insight heal in your gear)
+11 insight intimidate (also didn't see any of this! Did I miss it? You'd hit 150! Sexy)
Level 34 crafted items give +15 / +7 stats, which is where the +4 con came from.
Those are pretty small buffs though, that gear set has pretty much all the important bases covered. I like the synergy with this build. Unconscious range, big buffs to hp and sp, huge intimidate, hyper efficient healing. Looks like I need to get busy farming this gear![]()

Double post because this is significant to me and unrelated to the gear nit-pickings.
Finding this thread has totally changed my goals, honestly. Changed the goal for main toon's last life and what my alts are gonna be used for to complement the main.
Did some of my first legendary raiding this week and can say definitively, a dps toon is not worthy of my endgame focus. I've always loved barbarians in the DnD universe, and it seemed a no-brainer to finish as a barb. But now playing those raids (and wiping multiple times) and seeing how amazing a good burst heal is on my paladin, I don't know if I could stomach having an endgame toon without some epic survivability.
I had never considered finishing my last life as a tank, because the game is so dps-oriented, but **** I miss tanking from my other mmo days! I wish there was a place for it in this game. Well, there is a place for tanks at 30, isn't there?
Pretty excited to have a new vision that feels a lot more comfortable for my style. Gotta be the center of attention, right?![]()

Hey mate, this build can be better now with new CC and Slavers gear, I wrote this a couple of update ago.
There will be a new game mode called reaper, and belive me every group is going to need a tank if they do thing right.
I did enjoyed playing this toon so much but as it is now, only elite legendary raid make some use of a good tank.
Happy you're enjoying my build.
Triple Heroic & Epic completionist. Eroic : 42/42 - Epic : 36/36 - Iconic : 12/12.
(Party: [To Party] (Combat): Drow Blackguard hit you for a total of 4,451 points of slash damage after 495 were blocked by damage reduction.
Your (almost) build on Lamannia, in 10 skulls, on LE TS.
I have 227 PRR, 11% dodge, 181 AC. The mob missed 6-7 times before hitting me with displacement.
