Default Switched to Wifi now game crashes at 'Loading New Game Data'

I recently switched my PC from a wired internet connection to a wifi internet connection and now the game freezes/crashes at the "Launching New Game Data" "Connecting to Authentication Server ..." screen. I have a laptop that is also on the wifi that has 0 issues connecting and playing DDO. I have tried multiple wifi adapters for my PC and the issue remains. I can play other games online, just not DDO. I'm on Windows 7, the laptop that works is Windows 10. Any help would be much appreciated.

All of the DDO applications are 'allowed' through my firewall.

I also did an uninstall/re-install (from steam) last night and that didn't fix anything.

I've tried running DDO as an administrator.

I'm not a computer expert at all...but I wonder if there is some router setting that needs to be changed?

I don't think it's the router though, because both my laptop and pc are using the wifi from the same router and DDO connects on the laptop but not on the PC. The 2 main differences that I can think of between the 2 computers are their version of Windows and their wifi card/adapter.

I'm not a computer expert either though, so maybe there is some router setting that is somehow blocking the PC only.

Did you try right clicking (or even shift right clicking ) the DDO Launcher and run as administrator..
...on Win 7 you may be an administrator but that still doesn't give the full rights that 'the administrator' has..

Maybe the PC firewall or anti virus..
Quick test is to disable PC fire wall and Anti Virus and try to connect..

Also..for PC Firewall..check this link.. its for Lotro, but same rules apply.. just substitute substitute DDO for Lotro..

Prior to the reinstall I had set everything to run as administrator in an attempt to connect, but it didn't help. I also tried to connect after disabling the firewalls, and that didn't work either.

I'll try disabling the antivirus when I get home tonight and see if that works. I'll also take a look at the Lotro link too.

Check your Wi-Fi settings on your PC and make sure that you are not automatically connecting as a 'Public' connection, as this may cause an issue. You're going to want to set your network to and connect as 'Private', which your other devices are likely on.

Alternatively, before logging in, click on the down-ward facing arrow in the top right-hand corner of your launcher and go into the Options menu. From there, click on the 'Proxy' Tab and select 'No Proxy'. After you hit 'OK' down at the bottom, the launcher should restart itself. After logging in, you should be able to progress past the Loading New Game Data part, but let me know if you still have any further issues.
I do respond to PMs, but please note that I can get backed up. If you need immediate assistance, please refer to the links below!

This looks extremely promising. I'll try it first thing tonight. Thank you.

Unfortunately that didn't work. I also double-checked my network setting and it is set to home/private.

Although the launcher menu is kind of weird. On the proxy tab, the options don't fill in or anything when I click them. The window sort of flashes, and if I select 'Manual' I am able to type in the various fields, but the No Proxy, Use System Proxy, and Manual circles remain empty.

Try updating your wireless card drivers. You may also try updating your router firmware.

Well, darn. If LordPiglet's suggestion doesn't work either, toss in a ticket to our Tech Support team using the link in my signature so they can take a closer look.
