    Default The Green Destiny - A Ninja Spy Pure Monk Build

    I haven't played a pure Monk or even a centred-based character for sometime, so I decided to put together something for Stealth, Weaponised Melee & Ranged ability.

    can you fit in rapid shot? Maybe swap dodge & PBS and take rapid shot over dodge in its new place? I am not sure if the BAB would allow this.

    Since the monk tier 5s are poor, consider taking tier5 harper & ninja capstone. It will leave little AP for anything else but you would have 15 rp, usp, mp; bonuses to hit & damage, & improved deception on any weapon (or go with righteous if you have Rebellion).

    I did manage to fit in Rapid shot at level 12, thankfully

    I'll have a good look at Harper level 5's, as it would mean I could bin off the whole Ninjutsu line (not very flavourful of me, but I took it all for Touch of Death mainly). Thanks for the feedback

    probably. For the offhand on a thrower, it would not matter. You can always reset the enhancements!
    Tier 5 harper with ninja capstone is a nice buff--just kills flexibilty since you are locked into 2 trees

    OK, V2.0 with Ninja-Spy/Harper enhancements. I've retained GMoF for now, but I'm sorely tempted by Shadowdancer now as I'm picking up a lot of Dex from Harper as well as MP/RP/USP. In two minds atm as I don't want to gimp my Wisdom though, although I suppose Divine Crusader is an option too. Decisions, Decisions.

    maybe drop dodge for precision and then take precise shot later for Archer's focus
    also take fists of light so you can do some nice buffs for party, like align the heavens or grasp the earth
    Lacking PRR you will feel squishy in the toughest content as a monk in which case you will find yourself using the shurikens a lot. Then you will want to be a full time ranged thrower which would be strongest at 14 monk/6 ranger...

    what is ur primary weapon and secundary, i guess primary is the shurikens, i never used shurikens do a good damage?

    It's designed to be orientated towards Melee with Shortswords, with Shurikens as a viable and decent Ranged option. A versatile build.

    It's likely I'll think about an alternative build that is 14 Monk/6 Fighter, since I can pickup a +1 Crit Multi for the Shortswords from Kensei.

    I took a quick stab at a shuriken+TWF shortsword drow monk build here. I presume what we've seen so far is just the first stage of the monk overhaul, though; so it's premature to second-guess final builds, IMO.
    Semi-retired Build Engineer. Everything was better back in our day. Get off my lawn.
