Add mail flag indicator to the entries of the Character Selecttion list

I would like to see a mail flag indicator available for each entry of the Character Selection list. A simple flag up/down image next to the character's info would indicate any mail currently available without having to log into each and every character.

Many players have more than one character in their account. I play different characters all the time depending on the presence of guild mates, static groups, pugs, raids, etc... Also, many players perform activities such as posting items or bidding for items on the auction house.

Mail is a primary form of communication. Currently, the only way to monitor activities in to log into each character that may have transactions pending and check their mail flags. An indicator on the Character Selection screen would be a quick way to check for any possible need for attention.

Conjecture: seems to me that if the login process has some information about characters (name, level, class, last location) that presence of pending mail could easily be determined.

I believe that the Dev's have stated that the only way to do this (currently) would be for the game to log into each character on the selection screen and retrieve that information.

So it would almost be faster to just log into each character yourself.

If it could be done and not slow down getting into the game - am all for QoL / UI improvements.

Yeah I am curious if this is possible. Throughout my years of playing MMO's I have never seen any of them use this idea. This is a very good UI suggestion, but being as good as it is would there not be a game that uses it?

I agree this would be great, as a premium player I have limited AH space, so I need to use multiple characters to make all my posts. logging all my chars to check them out and re-post Auctions takes nearly and entire game-session. In the past that would not have been a big deal, but as game time has greatly diminished for me over the years it is almost no doable anymore. On top I play many alts so there are times where I don't log some of them for months, and frankly I just forget who posted what, when. Having a "you got mail" icon pop up on the Char select screen would a great QoL improvement!
