Kudos to Jiudark

Just wanted to draw peoples attention to one guy who is doing a great job with Orien being the default server at the moment. Jiudark has been regularly posting help LFMs for new lower level players to the game.





People can help out in various forms, and there are so many out there who do help out in ways that work for them and still have room to enjoy the game.

The 5 or so years that I've played DDO Jiudark has always been an active player with strong characters that pull everyone else through a quest when things start going sideways. He's straight with a build call and I too have been on the receiving end of character build advice. I don't know if he would consider himself a "power gamer" but I do see him as a powerful player. There are plenty out there who cruise through the game and focus on TRing or raiding and to be totally honest, game play is the main reason most of us are here so you cannot fault anyone for enjoying the game in the way they like. I think it's a big person who will take a little time to do something like putting up a help post and even though he doesn't do it for recognition, I believe it does deserve to be noted.

It's not a big thing (like putting together a podcast or Youtube videos) and we have talked about periodic questions he has received or a frustrating situation he's had but he keeps at it and I say good on him. I see what he's doing as helpful in a lot of ways 1) sometimes people do have a question and the server wide LFM primarily helps there 2) even if new players don't have a question or feel like asking anything the LFM shows that there is someone out there who can help 3) other experienced players can see that someone who has been playing for a long time is helping new players and hopefully the next time they group with a new player or see someone in a fix they may help out as well.

Again, enjoying the game yourself should always be paramount but I think efforts made to help others towards finding the same enjoyment should be recognized.

I wonder if he got any questions? Should ask him when i see him, but I think we're not playing in the same timezone (saw him online on Titan channel yesterday. Said good night, while it was maybe 3PM here)
