Can you be more specific about race, level split you're taking, specific fighting style, etc? This all makes or helps determine choices when gearing.

Go human, helf is an ugly waste of 3 points for an action boost and a lost feat. +1 SA or +2 saves is nothing in the scope of the game today, and UMD is high enough to scroll heal in epics, if planned right.

I am not sure that there is any sort of gear list best for a fighter. There's a barbarian max DPS list you could revamp easily enough, but I will give this a try, at least for heroics, based on almost easily attained gear.

Weapons:


Bleeding Edge (Demon Assault)
GS Lit2/Min2/Triple Holy Khops

GS is still best in slot for Khops in heroics, imo. I'm sure some disagree.

Ranged: Return to Sender (Tavern Brawl)

Armor: (Depending) Black Dragon

Heavy, unless evasion, but you may want to look at the differences between +5 PRR from heavy or double dodge from medium.


Head: Highest Defensive PRR/MRR with Resistance lootgen item

Neck: Elite Jorgundal's Collar (GH Tor. Ice Dragon chest, if I remember)

Shoulders: Mysterious Cloak with Fear Immune or Death Block and +1 Luck Bonus (Remms weekend. Alternative would be energy block/absorb, or other best in slot you can find)

Bracers: Barbette's Bracers w/ 100% fort item (Tavern Brawl)

Belt: Best Lootgen Doublestrike of needed skill.

Gloves: +6-+8 Strength with more Heal Amp

Googles: +6 to +8 Int (if using KtA) with highest deadly
Switch: UMD + best find (for buffing/scroll healing)

Ring 1: +6+ to +8 Con with highest false life

Trinket: Token of the Proven (Archon's Trial) for feather fall clicky, or slot Feather Fall in one of the many aug spaces and find something else.

Ring 2: ?
Switch highest charisma for UMD use.


Like I said, this is just a quick heroic setup. There's always better. I would have to think even longer on epics to wrap my head around it. Some of the other guys who play fighters may be better suited to help you out here.

twf levelling weapons?

the only recommendations i have are min2 gs x2, house cannith khopesh x2, and drowpesh x2. otherwise its just random gen and meh named items
