Background Programs

Wonder if anyone else experiences this.
This happens regardless of whether any other program is open, but I like to keep Mozilla open in the background to alt-tab over to if needed.
Multiple times every play session, the client will "minimize" and I'm sent back to the desktop or whatever program I have open. If I click DDO again in the task bar I come back to the game. Sometimes it seems like certain clicks of the mouse or typing in ddo is actually interacting with the program in the background as links will be clicked, text highlighted, or characters entered when it "minimizes"

Any suggestions on how to avoid this?

Sounds like you have something else running in your system tray that is taking focus away from DDO, Samsung Magician used to cause this type of effect so check and see what you having running that you might not need to have.

This does happen to me. I only happens twice each time I log in usually after about an hour of playing. My screen will minimize and send me to the desktop. It always happens a second time about 30 seconds later. I am usually fine after that.

I still don't know what is causing it. Annoying but not game breaking.

Exactly the same for me. Happens in every game for me. Have no clue what program causes it.

I actually have the same problem. Happens after about 1 to 2 hours and always twice within seconds of the first time. It has happened since I upgraded to Windows 10 not sure if that has anything to with it though.

I'm still on Windows 7 and having the issue.

programs in the system tray that generate popups are notorious for this. you might not even see the pop up, because you are running full screen, but when you hover over it or click the general area where would be, focus goes to the no longer existing bubble. some firewalls and antivirus programs come with a specific 'gaming mode' option because of this, to avoid it taking away focus.

Might be a good start to check on settings of those.

I usually get this when there's a skype popup in the background and I click in the right bottom corner.
It'll register as if I'm clicking the skype popup instead of my game, and open the conversation with whoever it was that just logged on.
