Default Getting the loot you want

Is there a way to increase a category of item to drop? If I am playing a rogue are +10 search goggles more likely to be in chests or end rewards?
I've been waiting for kukris to drop but not having much luck at all. I do see a TON of short swords and daggers so I feel it may be random but tilted to rogue somewhat. Is there a way to increase my chance to get a certain category?

There is the feature 'end rewards based on class' in settings

I am not sure that description is entirely correct. At least in my case.

Checking that box, which give me end rewards based on class actually ends up being - Give him bastard swords.

Unchecking that box really means - Give him more bastard swords.

Personally the only things I've found that increases my odds of getting something I'm after is:

    1. Run with people that share. Willing to trade or even swap items with you
    2. Run a class that can't use what you are looking for
    3. Find a person that can craft you the Rogue gear you need

True Story my artificer has pulled 3 Swords of Shadows - Two of which were on the same run. There are 3 people on Khyber with SoS's that are much happier then I would be having 3 SoS's. On the flip side, it took me years to get one on my paladin.

That makes it more likely to give you weapons and armour you are proficient with, but is a bit buggy.
It has no effect on what magical abilities the items have.

It also doesn't work on any end reward that can have "special" loot like named items or special crafting ingredients.

I was getting Scimitars for a while. I would open a chest. Yep, another scimitar. I said screw it. I went for the exotic proficiency weapon scimitar.. Right after that. I started getting all the Khopeshes I could ever want. Solved the problem with the scimitars. Never saw another one again........That's how, we roll here...

    Default Runs of stuff.

I had sort of the same with Feather Fall items.

A young toon of mine got inside quests 11 Feather Fall items in 12 adventures. I was offered another 5 as end rewards in that run of quests.
My buddy who was running with me over the couple days, pulled 1 FF item in the first quest together so I couldn't even give him one of mine.
So I banked a couple of them, wore one and put the rest in the AH cheap.
After a little Tolkien I am usually up for anything.

This is true. I had to create a S&B Pali with BSw prof and THF feats just to feel less frustrated about it. And with the latest RNG pass, weapons are borked*, so they all get disjuncted and recrafted.

    * My Pale Master has a very nice Nullified Bastard Sword of Nulification as a caster stick on the other hand.
