    Default No sound in party

I just retuned to the game and loaded the game on a newer computer. The install went fine and I can hear all the sound effects as I did before. The problem is when I join a party. When I speak in party, they cannot hear me and my green light does not come on to them. When they speak to me, I do not see their light and I cannot hear them.

I have voice chat enabled and I could hear myself when I did the mic test. Is there something I could be missing when it comes to getting this fixed?

I apologize I am no computer guru and any help would be appreciated.

not sure if this helps, but look for your userpreferences file and change your port setting.

if it 9000 change it to 0 if it is 0 change to 9000

Also as it is a fresh install ensure you have enabled voice in audio settings, as an IT engineer myself I can attest I missed this more than once also :-)

Has it just happened the once, or has it happened multiple times (by which I mean multiple times having restarted the game)? I know that I sometimes log on and I'll be able to hear voice chat but not any game sounds, and restarting usually fixes that, so perhaps you're simply getting the reverse. (If it's not that, then I really can't help at all, sorry)

Since the Data Center migration this has happened to my wife and I twice.

The first time, joining a party with one other guild member all three people couldn't hear each other over voice chat and could not see any party chat from other party members. Guild chat worked fine.

The second time, we joined a group of two other guild members. My wife and I could talk and hear each other through voice chat, the other two guildies could talk to each other through voice chat but we could not hear them and they could not hear us. Party chat did not work either.

Both times, all people re-logging corrected the problem. Both times people joined other people while they were in private instances (quests and explorer zones).

Oh, yeah, chat has been borked all over the place. Tells and user chats seem to consistently work, and sometimes some chat works and others don't. And at least once, I've lost party chat mid-quest and didn't realize it until later. I just thought the other two were being quiet 'cause there wasn't much to say lol
