Default Deep Gnome palemaster and death aura/negative energy blast

Anyone else having trouble healing themselves? I'm in wraith form and death aura/negative energy blast have about 30-40% of going off.. rest of the time I'm seeing the resist animation on the character just as you are getting on a resisted magic missile with shield on.

Yet again, I am really dissapointed in this ****ing game. I checked back to DDO after 3-4 months of break and decided to do Deep Gnome past lives with something fun - 15wiz/2fvs/3pal heavy armor shiradi PM! As it turns out it was a HORRIBLE idea thanks to the above mentioned bug. You just can't heal yourself reliably!

Moral of the story for me - just stick to the easy mode warlock and forget interesting builds.

In the past there was a problem when wearing the pale lavender ioun stone / silver flame talisman that blocked death aura / negative energy blast until the charges were depleted. Of course if you are not wearing those then I don't know. I've been doing the easy button lately (Warlock).

Also deathblock gear with negative energy absorption--this used to block pm healing. Might want to research more on this.

My svirfneblin pale master is just about to hit level 30, and she hasn't had any issues with self healing... beyond the occasional concentration check fail... or trying to heal when a wave of lag passes... or mashing too many buttons at once...

Aside from the heavy armor, what gear is yours wearing?

My main toon is currently a Monk/Fighter/Druid build at the moment, but I'm going to TR her into a full pure Druid next life. And that will make life easier for me, in my opinion. I've already got a pure rogue assassin-mechanic trap monkey, and I'm going to create a Fighter Tank soon and maybe thinking of a Cleric Healer too.

You can go with heavy armor, but ASF will be a problem until you mitigate it. Some races have enhancements, the EK tree has enhancements and there are augments and some armors that also have reduced ASF.

You have to ask yourself what is acceptable failure chance. I have an EK/AA with 4% ASF and I find that acceptable because it only effects my buffing spells. If you use spells for Offense you may find that percent chance of failure is not acceptable.
