Wars have started when the wrong socks are worn to ceremonies before Elder Brains. It's not uncommon to see an Umber Hulk, yarn stretched between their mandibles, darning new socks for their tentacled masters.



The one thing that Mind Flayers do not wish you surface-dwellers to know - for it is their deepest and most abiding shame - that they cannot wear just any sock. Due to poor muscle tone in their legs they must wear.... suspender socks!
