Default Guild renown lag bug suggestion

Although the lag spike that happens whenever guild renown is awarded in dungeons and raids has always existed, it has become insanely worse since the data center move.

So here's my suggestion: Remove guild renown from dungeons/raids and just add it to the final loot chest for each player. Simply calculate how many renown-awarding mobs are in a dungeon/raid and how much each is worth, and add it to the loot chest at the end. Or, even better, just add it to the quest reward back at the quest giver and get it out of the dungeon entirely.

    /Not in favor.

Sometimes completing a quest isn't the main objective of the day. This idea would remove yet another thing we can usually get 'as we go'.

Come on people, seriously? Lag is due to guild renown? Seriously? We all know that isn't the issue and only appears that the developers are looking for everything and anything that may be causing lag. Let's start by asking why the massive increase in lag from just moving a data center location. We had some lag at the old location, and now a ton more at the new location. But guess what, the guild renown function hasn't changed. At least as far as we know, no changes have occurred to the way that guild renown was given before and after the move. So if renown is the issue, then what changed.

A lot of us in pug groups have noticed that when certain people join a party that the lag increased greatly and when they left and were replaced by others, the lag didn't return. I am no expert in computer systems, but I do no a lot about looking for root causes. Could it be that the lag is being generated by players with poor quality hardware and poor internet connections linking into the game? Just a thought.

I for one didn't find the lag issue at the old data center to be as bad as it is at the new data center, which makes me ask the question as to what is the difference between the two locations and why would that difference make lag worse. Don't look at things that didn't change, like guild renown, but lets look at what did change.

    Just my thoughts.
