    Default Reincarnation Questions

So, I came back to playing DDO after being gone for a long time. I picked up MotU during last summer because I really wanted to try out the Epic Destinies and such.

After weeks of casual play, I finally got my Rogue to Lv 20. It's still going to take me some time to get my Tokens of the Twelve for Heroic Reincarnation (I have done that once before, way back when I first played.)

My main question is: I don't own Shadowfell Conspiracy. Am I still able to Epic Reincarnate at Lv 25?

    Other questions I have:

    1) If I gain any epic levels whatsoever, do I lose my opportunity to Heroic Reincarnate?
    2) Can I still gain Epic Destinies without going above Lv 20?

Since my rogue is a first life, and I would like to play Druid, I want to reincarnate as soon as possible. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

You can Epic Reincarnate at level 30 (the new cap) when you have a Epic Heart of Wood (available either from the DDO Store or from trading 4,200 Commendations of Valor/42 Heart Seeds) AND 6 million Karma in an Epic Destiny Sphere. (You only lose the "level"-XP and get back to level 20 and the Karma but not the XP in your EDs.) It does not mater how you get the XP and Shadowfell Conspiracy is not needed at all.

    1) Non-iconic heroes can heroic (true) reincarnate at any point after reaching level 20 if they have a Heroic True Heart of Wood (available from the DDO Store or trading 20 Tokens of the Twelve)

    Benefit:

    Build point upgrade
    Grants passive Past Life Feats
Access to active/purchasable Past Life Feats
    Access to Completionist eventually

    Cost:

Loss of all XP (level 20)
Loss of all Favor and character-level favor rewards (but not server-level favor rewards)
Loss of all quest completions, flagging and raid completion counter

    2) You could level your EDs and stay at level 20 but there are no benefits from doing this AFAIK.

Turn in 300 epic cannith challenge ingredients for 1 token. Can run a challenge with a daily free token if you don't have this pack. Arguably fastest way (if you have the pack) but also most grind due to high repetition to get 6k mats.

Daily runs of epic Wiz King, Von 3 (sometimes 4), and Spies in the House are common. Just ask for tokens or fragments to be passed to you if other players don't need them. Most people running these are doing this for XP, not tokens.

Devil Assault - Clear on epic normal and post "free loot - pass tokens" in LFM and wait for a few people to join then open chests. The idea being they get 5 free chests (including chance at greensteels mats) and pass you their tokens in return. Do this multiple times a day on a weekend and you will probably get enough tokens to TR in an afternoon. Fastest way to get tokens (with a full cooperative group).

    Default Thanks!

Thanks you guys for the quick responses.

That leaves me with just one question. If I don't buy Shadowfell Conspiracy... can I never Epic Reincarnate?

Shadowfell isn't required for epic reincarnation.
You just need to get to level 30, have 6 million karma in any one destiny sphere, and the epic heart of wood.
(You get karma in whatever destiny sphere has your active destiny any time you might gain XP. If you happen to be level capped and not gaining XP, you will still gain karma unless the sphere itself is also capped with 6M karma.)

Ah, cool. So I can actually get to Lv 30 with just the first expansion?

    Yes.

Shadowfell will give you some extra content so you aren't repeating some of the same quests as often on your way to cap, but it isn't needed at all.

If you've been gone a very long time, you may not have noticed that quest XP is on a timer now, not a counter. You can repeat quests as many times as you like and still get full xp provided you aren't replaying them a lot on the same day, or take breaks of a few days between play sessions. More info at http://ddowiki.com/page/Quest_ransack. So in principle, as long as you have access to any epic content, you can eventually cap your character.
