    Default Guild Usurp Questions

Okay, I know that officers can take over guilds after a certain period of time, but can members eventually take them over?

I am in a guild with about 20 members. Most of them are officers. Only me and one other member have been playing on this guild for nearly two months. None of the officers nor the leader (or even other members) have even logged in.

I would like to take it over because (1) only officers and leaders can add new things to the airship and invite new players, (2) I was donating plat to the guild before I realized the leadership was AWOL, (3) I want to help the guild improve and grow.

If I were to take over and the old leadership would come back, I have no problem handing it back to them. At that time, I might have my character well enough built up to get my own guild. I also wouldn't feel as guilty about taking the XP away because I would have contributed a lot. However, if I have to stay in a guild with an airship that has no buffs (because none of the officers added them before they left- they bought the ship and bailed) and no chance of ever getting buffs, I might as well leave.

I know- the leader spent TP on it, but really, you get enough free TP by level 6 of a first player to purchase a guild without spending real $$. And, as I already said, I have no problems handing this back to the leader if he or she ever returns (so even if I could be self-promoted to officer it would be fine). However, if there is no chance of me ever being placed in charge - or even becoming an officer and being able to do things- no matter how long the others have been gone, I want to know. It seems pointless to be a part of a guild where all the other members are dead and you have no hope of getting new members or guild amenities - especially when you only have the first airship with zero amenities. I only wish I could take my donated plat with me!

And just for the record- I do have a guild on a different server. I realized when I purchased it that someone could usurp me if I had not logged in for a while- I also appointed a successor who plays more frequently than I do (which is about once a week for each of my characters) to prevent that from happening. My guild officers actively recruit and also help get new amenities and ships for my guild members. If others want to be guild leaders and don't ever want to be usurped- well they don't have to invite anyone else to their guild. In one year's time, a guild can grow a lot with active leadership- or it can fester with inactivity.

As a guild leader, I am allowed to boot players who have not contributed in the past 6 months without penalty. I feel that members at least should have a similar option when leadership is absent that long. When I looked on the wiki guide, it seemed as if members don't have any option to usurp, ever. However, there was an older thread from 2011 that said they would eventually get the option to usurp. Which is currently correct?

    Inactive Leadership
This seniority becomes important in the event that the higher powers become AWOL as such:
The successor (if assigned) can now usurp a guild if the leader has been inactive for 60 days.
Officers can now usurp a guild after 60 days if there is no successor, or if the leader and successor has been inactive for 60 days.

So, if you're not an officer, you're SOL and probably need to look for a new guild if you're unwilling to wait on missing leader/officers.

Thank you! I am definitely not going to wait around and keep pouring plat or time into a guild that may never revive.

The King is dead, long life the (new) King!

And so, it should be also possible to usurp a guild for a normal member.
And I tell you this as a guild leader of a tiny guild who bought the biggest ship and all stuff you can have on your ship (and would buy more if there is more).
I just would not like to see if someone usurp my guild and then could boot me from my guild. In fact, I was already forced to be offline for more then 6 month and one of my officer usurped the guild but instantly gave the leadership back to me after I was there again.
So what I would suggest: Usurpation possible for officers after a given time, then after another time period also for normal members.
But the now new leader should not be able to boot the old guild leader nor the old inactive officers and if they turn back they should keep there old status and even if this means we have then two guild leaders who can not boot or degrade each other, just them self maybe. (maybe make it impossible to kick anyone with inactive status and maybe add a filter for inactive members).
And by the way entirely remove the option to disband a guild, this option is in 99,9% (yes I exaggerate) useless and in the worst case makes it possible for an usurpator to destroy a guild with two clicks.
And in my opinion even the guild leader and founder should not have this option, he can just leave if he wish. Of course he can still remove each member one by one, but i see no good solution to prevent this way.
