Overpowered Cleric?

! was running a dungeon last night with a level 3 Cleric and he seemed to be casting Magic Circle Against Evil as well as Aid, Mass. These spells should not be available until the Cleric has reached level 5. What gives?

The scrolls are only minimum level 3 to cast. (Raise dead is minimum level 7, but my cleric hireling refuses to carry any..)

Hmmm. I am reviewing the spells on the wiki. The Magic Circle Against Evil and Aid, Mass spells are both Caster level 3, which means you have to be Cleric level 5 to get them. The wiki also says that scrolls for caster level 3 spells have a minimum character level of 6 to use. Something doesn't add up here.

Looks like wiki has got that wrong. I remember doing elite heroic Chronoscopes back in the day when they were run at level (8) on my cleric. Always used to buy raise dead scrolls to use from lvl 7, even though I wouldn't normally get the spell until lvl 9

As a spell they cant take it until they reach level 5.
But they are level 3 accessible with wands/scrolls.

I think there is some confusion.

Both of these spells are Spell Level 3

For a Cleric and Wizard the spell can be memorized at Level 5
For a Favored Soul and Sorcerer the spell can be memorized at Level 6

The Scrolls can be used at Level 3 and will be cast from the scroll as if by a Caster of Level 5.

UMD for those who do not have this spell is 28.

We get one player runing a cleric wich on tops of that goes out of his way to spend plat in buffs for his/her party members and what does people do? Ask for nerf instead of being thankfull or at least checking in game . Really people? Really??

LoL. Wait till you get to epics and see clerics become heal-buff-raise-nannybots that they are.
I could make a Light nuker cleric, but their DPS would still be only 50% as good as MM spamming shiradi.
