Default Is Burst of Glacial Wrath blocked by Epic Ward?

I was consistently landing Salt Rays and Sun Beams @ 63 DC vs Orange Named Mobs in the Schindlrynn quests but never once did the Burst of Glacial Wrath freeze any of the same mobs.

This was on EH so I would fully expect for this Feat to land on Orange Named Mobs that are not immune to heroic level CC spells.

Default No one has used BoGW and seen this? Really...

Bump 'cause I find it hard to believe that no one else has tried Burst of Glacial Wrath and can confirm whether or not it is freezing Orange Named mobs with Epic Ward.

If a Heightened Salt Ray with a DC of 64 stuns them then I see no reason why this EPIC Spell will not freeze the same mob. Especially in Epic Hard Content.

Maybe I should try my epic spell on epic normal...ffs

Default Burst of Glacial Wrath doesn't work in Demonweb quests vs Orange Named mobs.

Same as before, no freezing effect from Burst of Glacial Wrath vs Orange Named mobs in Demonweb quests either. I saw an "Immune" pop along with the cold damage but the combat log doesn't indicate anything about the freeze effect failure.

    So...yeah it's ****

This spell should work on any monster that bards Freezing Ice attacks work on which includes undead.

I know that the Fiend-Blood Troglodytes in Codex of Shroud are immune to Burst of Glacial Wrath as could never freeze one of them but could stun with Soundburst with slightly lower dc. These trogs are yellow and not orange named.

Orange named immunity has been observed elsewhere

It doesn't seem to effect undead from what I have seen.

It's blocked by charm immunity. I bug reported this months ago and nothing has happened yet unfortunately.

Things Burst of Glacial Wrath will freeze:

    Most humans/humanoids
    Animals
    Elementals
    Mephits
    Reptiles (kobolds/troglodytes)...usually
    Demons/devils
    Most giants, orcs, monstrous humanoids

But there are some interesting exceptions:

It normally freezes minotaurs and ogres, but won't freeze them in madstone crater, where they have a buff giving them immunity to mind altering spells
It can freeze the fiendish kobolds in quests like Creeping Death, but not in Legendary Shroud, where they have the Mandate of Shavarath buff
It can somehow freeze ice themed monsters like ice mephits and winter wolves, even though they do not take damage from the spell

Notice a pattern? Burst of Glacial Wrath only freezes things that can be charmed!

It might be working as intended. Did you confirm it's checking against fort save rather than will save?

For years people believed EIN checked against a fort save but recently I confirmed it goes against a will save. I only thought to verify it because it was similar to hurl which goes against a will save.

How does what save it targets matter?? The ability is obviously not WAI, unless you think it makes sense that it can freeze Ice Mephits but not plants...

Yes I tested that in pvp the first day I got it because I noticed it was working funny. Plus the list of stuff it doesn't work on - It's not a low chance because of the save type, it literally never freezes them.
