I'm ok with them handing out another token across the board if that means everyone receives at least one item that they wanted, even if that means some people get two of their choice.
I'm not
they should have just kept the list curtailed without adding later the missing items. Totally wrong move, since it opened the door for the unwashed masses to complain and ask for a second token, or trade-in option etc. When one is in the position of giving out free stuff, it is easy to forget that you can still generate anger and disappointment even as you donate.
It is one of the reasons that people in caregiving professions get burnt out...

There really should have been more and clearer communication. But, after the criticism raised after multiple Raider Boxes, and the content of the Anniversary list itself... I didn't expect a replacement token or an exchange. And despite my feelings on how the whole thing was handled - I can see their point of view in not giving out more tokens.

Beware the Sleepeater
I agree - they shouldn't have updated the list, but I totally take offense at your tone - passive aggressive insults and insinuations are uncalled for.
The thing is that they DID add more items, with no path to equalize their mistake and created this situation, not the "unwashed masses."
Offering suggestions on how to possibly include those who, through no fault of their own, were excluded from the full selection of the offered gifts, is not uncalled for, nor is it taking selfish advantage of Turbine's benevolent generosity, as you're trying to imply, on the contrary; It is a valid topic and a reasonable request to have it examined for a solution.
I feel your pain, and I agree that they dropped the ball somewhat with the whole list modification on the fly routine, but I can't see that giving everyone another token is a viable solution. Customer Service isn't a bad option as long as they are willing to play ball.
I'm a solo player, too, but that is my own personal choice. I can always decide to try to raid, as can you. It was a nice thing to give out free items, and it should have been done better, but giving out another token is overkill. Now, if I want to upgrade my Pinion, I'll just have to raid like everyone else who upgraded theirs. Sounds fair to me.
You mean trade in the item you selected for a new token so you can choose from the new list? Pretty sure it's not going to be a development priority, but sure why not, maybe put it on the dev list for the 11th anniversary event.
If you mean you want another completely free thing in addition to the free thing you already got ... then no.

Just give us all the items and let us delete that which we don't want.
Bring out the torches and pitchforks, baby!!(for those that can't handle some humor on this subject)
In all honesty, the giveaway is an absolute letdown compared to Birthday 8.
I have yet to run the Party Event and this week I will be doing my taxes, so again, I won't be doing the event. I am not sure how this event rates to the Mimic event, which was the 9th birthday.
I wonder how many threads there will be when the event ends and people still have their 10th anniversary tokens.

It's a decent quest that I'd run regularly if it was permanent.
But I ran it like 15 times over the first two days just to get enough party favours for one Broccoli and the other loot is nowhere near good enough for me to go into that grind again.
I'm just not into running the same quest over and over again no matter how good it is and no matter how good the loot is either!
Frankly the loot is pretty meh too {the Broccoli is a nice Epic one hander for Oozes and fortunately BtA rather than BtC but that's it!}.
I will say however that this event is a million times better than that dismal Mimic event last year!
Upgrade it in the raid like everybody else - except for those who got their CitW weapon from a raid box and upgraded it with the CoH's from the Anniversary token.
Look - when I say I don't raid, it isn't a choice. I can't raid or group or do a great many other things, due to personal limitations.
Yeah, a trade-in is what I had in mind, as the title infers. The extra token is just another possible suggestion, I'm sure there are other possibilities. But one thing is puzzling - the general attitude seems to be that the items are not that big of a deal or all that extraordinary and you can just run the raids and turn-ins yourself - but, for some reason no one wants anybody to have too many of them. If they're no big deal why are folks so adamant about restricting them? Something don't add up.
Thanks guys, for the suggestion - I'll give CS a shot.
Or...
People could be grateful that they got something free in the first place (sounds like the kind of thing I have to tell my 15 year old a lot). There was stuff here on the forums from very early in the anniversary event saying that the list of items has been released incomplete by accident. Even I managed to catch on...
Sarlona: Aramzim, Attickus, Behren, Daaghda, Darksyde, Fyggaro, Oldero
Argonessen: Egyll, Ghrae, Mitrel, Physz, Sanjurow, Schaeleen
Thelanis: Aarlyss, Eagynn | Ghallanda: Glooming | Khyber: Ghrae
I was amongst those who turned in early. Maybe I should have read the Lam threads. Maybe I should have waited. But I didn't. I was excited to get a free item--in some cases, things I farmed for for years and never even saw.
The thing is, I strongly feel that the additional items should NOT have been added. All it did was take a positive-across-the-board situation and add room for angst. Personally, I would have chosen some of the new things--especially the coms--against some of the items I picked.
The bottom line is, they didn't have to do anything. It was a wonderful gesture, regardless of execution, and I am thankful. I do wish nothing further was added, as it does put an asterisk next to this giveaway in the minds of many.
Furthermore, those who are saying "you should have waited, it's your own fault" aren't wrong--per se--but that sort of attitude does nothing for the folks who aren't as forum privy as everyone else. So, I humbly ask that those sentiments get the kibosh, because it's helping as much as the "two token" people--not at all.

Not really seeing the major issue unless you really really wanted a SoS or Cloudburst, the robe is BTA, the XP is easily obtainable, and the comms are one run of FoT with nice people.
