I like ranged DPS. I want to be able to open locks, disable traps, and find secret doors. I end up soloing quite a bit so self healing options would be great as well. Is there an Artificer build that would suits my needs?
Thanks!

Warforged, Harper, 36 pts... just curious, is that viable for non-VIP? Or is it a "you just can't get there from here" sort of thing?
For a first-lifer and without any Premium races, I'm guessing(?) that you'd be looking...
o Human
o 16 Dex
o 13 Con
o 17 Int
... Is that gonna be workable? (Or would you go all-in for 18 Int (and 15 Dex, 12 Con) and hope you full a +4 Dex Tome before Level 15?)
Something like this wouldn't ~have~ to go past 20, it's clear that without at least some past lives it's just gonna be behind the curve, plain and simple, so grab a past-life and then "better next time"./

(For some reason "Edit" isn't working atm, so adding this here...)
I've seen 18/2 Rogue dips (for Evasion) - but I'm not seeing that jump to anyone's mind as a recommendation - curious why?
(Al@ OP - also, there's this Pali/Rog build: claims to be solid, has good feedback: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...to+knife+fight
Artificers are still on sale, right? So I would buy them for 250 TPs (or whatever it is right now), then unlock drow via Favor - you can do 400 in a weekend - and play this:
+2 DEX tome is from 1750 Favor; if you don't have it by lvl 16, swap Heighten with IPS. [EDIT: and if you don't have it by lvl 20, Favor-farm until you do before taking lvl 20. ] Not having Combat Archery costs you +1[W] bonus, but it looks like the epic caster feats add more oomph (or so I hope).Code:Drow Artificer Artificer 20 True Neutral Drow Stats 28pt Tome Level Up ---- ---- -------- Strength 8 4: INT Dexterity 17 +2 8: INT Constitution 14 12: INT Intelligence 18 16: INT Wisdom 8 20: INT Charisma 10 24: INT 28: INT Feats 1 : Point Blank Shot 3 : Precision 4 Arti : Rapid Shot 6 : Maximize Spell 8 Arti : Precise Shot 9 : Empower Spell 12 : Quicken Spell 12 Arti : Improved Critical: Ranged 15 : Spell Focus: Evocation 16 Arti : Improved Precise Shot 18 : Greater Spell Focus: Evocation 20 Arti : Heighten Spell 21 Epic : Overwhelming Critical 24 Epic : Master of: Artifice 26 Destiny: Epic Spell Power: Electricity 27 Epic : Ruin OR Intensify Spell 28 Destiny: Doubleshot 29 Destiny: Arcane Warrior OR Arcane Pulse 30 Epic : Greater Ruin OR Embolden Spell 30 Legend : Scion of: Plane of Air Enhancements (80 AP) Arcanotechnician (46 AP)Battle Engineer (31 AP)

Artificer is my next life (will be my second go-around for Arty) and I'm looking at Art13/Ftr2/Rog5, gnome as my build.
Rog5 gets my mechanic line, and tier5 mechanic stuff seems to splash quite well with repeaters.
Rog5 also means I lose out on two bonus feats since Artificer is forced to stop at 14, so I decided to add in two fighter levels for the bonus feats.
I haven't worked up the build yet, though, but that's my starting point.
edit: looks like Art15 is a requirement in order to get Blade Barrier, which is hugely powerful.
So if I splash 5 rogue onto that, I won't get blade barriers until level 20, which would suck. Now I'm wondering if I should just go pure artificer and build it more towards casting power than repeater power. Decisions, decisions.
