This downtime has lasted long enough that I decided to get up, and take a walk around.
I almost passed out. My perspective of the room changed by three feet and threw off my orientation. It took a few tries but I managed to stand up without falling right back down.
Goal accomplished I figured I would get some stuff done. Take a shower, get some food, do some laundry. Stuff like that.
I went to the fridge to get some food. I noticed a few things.
1. The milk expired in 2008.
2. My two youngest children had moved out at some point. There were notes on the door of the fridge with their contact information and that it would be nice if I called them sometime.
3. Pizza boxes can be stacked floor to ceiling.
Still I found some can food that wasn't too far past expiration and got a meal. As I passed by the front door, it opened and a young man walked in. I thought it may have been one of my kids, but I wasn't sure. He seemed very startled, and a little scared. Turns out it was the pizza guy. I evidently tip him pretty well to bring pizza twice a day and just bring it back to my room. He takes the old boxes out when he brings the new ones in. The dogs seemed happy to see him. He explained I pay extra for him to walk them twice a day.
Still, I can see where he might be startled, but not scared. He didn't want to admit it at first, but he has been sleeping in my den for the last year. His GF kicked him out.
Whatever. I tossed the soup and grabbed a pizza box.
As I walked by the living room, I saw my oldest son. I think it was him. When did 12 year olds starting having full beards? I went to say hi to him, but I could not talk. Eventually I noticed my finger kept twitching whenever I went to open my mouth. I went back grabbed the mouse and tried to talk while clicking the button for voice. I was able to say hi.
He was playing league of legends. He looked at me for a second, trying to figue out who I was. then he said, "Meh" and went back to his game.
I was getting tired of standing, so I went back to my room as the pizza guy started walking the dogs. I found my cell phone, and plugged it in. After a a few mintues it started making noises. I remembered it as the text notification.
My friend wanting to know where I was.

The list goes on...
I called my friend. He was happy to hear from me and wanted to know how I escaped.
I call the cops to let them know I was alright (there will be a story in the paper = "Missing man was just playing a video game")
I called my boss, apologized and told her I understood why she fired me. It's all good.
Turns out the business has taken off and she is desperate for help. I can have my old job, with a decent raise - if I will just show up for work.
I told her I was really grateful, and I would not let her down again.
But I needed tomorrow off........
