Just to let you know, I am still experiencing the Store problem. I just logged on to DDO to get the weekly free sample. I was quick and just managed to get it delivered before the game crashed.

I am using XP on this old machine (it won't work with newer Windows due to video requirements), so I don't really expect this issue to get solved in game. Not unless Turbine decides to start supporting XP again, and I just don't see that happening.

A bit of info from LOTRO forums about the awesonium upgrade: https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...rformance-Work Thank you to nonesuch2008 for his searching and the post he made that I ran across with the notes including the awesonium info https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...ot-come-to-you and to the staff that worked on the issue.

    Default Store crashes game

    Hi all,

The opening of the store has been crashing my game for a bit now, maybe a month or so. It was happening before Update 30.
I am running Fedora 22 with Wine 1.9.5.. The game runs great, but when I try to open the store, the store window pops up and is blank for about 2 seconds then the game crashes.
I have tried a few things now. I downgraded Wine to 1.7.5 under a clean wine prefix and installed DDO. I used winetricks to install everything under the sun for DDO
    DirectX 9 10 & 11 (each separately and together) VC ++ 2005, 2008, 2013, 2015 and again (each separately and together) core-fonts tohoma .

On my Fedora Desktop I was using Google Chrome as my main browser, and have been for a while now, and I have Firefox as well I set one as the default then the other and still the game would crash

This is starting to get annoying as I would love see just how many points I have now and be able to spend some points...

The bug causing the store to crash is within the awesomium process, and some sort of incompatibility with a few operating systems. This started a few days before the U30 update.

With the current lag issue, its a safe bet that this isn't a priority for them. Its unclear if they are actually fixing the issue or not. When alerted to the bug, they changed the minimum requirements instead of providing a solution or a workaround.

Yeah, I'm not terribly hopeful, speaking as another premium Linux user who's been playing happily for about six months now (and has actually purchased and spent quite a few points on the store - but not anymore, it seems).

I too have played on & off for ~4-5 years on Linux, and it is only the last couple of updates, starting from U26 -> then a Wine upgrade did the trick till -> ~U30 dropped. One of the several reasons i stick around this long with DDO is that "I could", unlike the many new games that simply dont run under my preferred system.

This is on LOTRO test server release notes so it may not work in live game but that being said some good news at the bottom of the first post about the store not closing https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...ULLROARER-ONLY Hopefully it will work on live and it can be used in ddo as well.

Anyone know if there has been an official response from the DDO people?
The forum search isn't functioning right now.

Even though forum search is not working, the dev tracker is. That's usually best way to find dev responses, they rarely choose to uncheck them from dev tracker. With that being said nothing current, besides next update will have the attempt at a fix I believe. LOTRO forums still best place to go for info though, since they already have it and it works on there test server.

I read that LOTR page the other day, and it did give me a little bit of hope, but frankly my trust in them right now is nihil, and I'd really like to hear what the DDO side has to say regarding the matter, not what LOTR has to say on it. Everyone posting to your thread here has been patient with them, except for the ones that have already left for good.

Im not really buying the ol' poor dev thing. I was patient for the week it took their technical support to respond to my ticket (with a lie, no less). I was patient while Cordovan was on his vacation last week. He did find the time to stop in yesterday and close down my thread regarding the removal of the PC NDA. I think he can also find a few minutes in his day to provide an update about the store.

An apology at this point would go a long way too.

Day 28. Opening the store while the game is running still crashes the game.

Is there a progress update for this bug yet?

Except if you dont have store access due to the bug. Then it truly is an encore. I cant make use of it either.

Before the CtD, i actually see the store loading up for 1-2 seconds, can see the gray background image, and my TP count. Seems like it is in the process of loading some other stuff when the crash happens.

It's not just the store that causes my crash. I put in a help ticket last night for a mob stuck in a wall. When I closed the window, DDO crashed. I restarted DDO, checked my ticket to make sure it wasn't cancelled since I was not on line for a minute...and crashed again.

Finally after the GM fixed my problem....I completed and then every time I hit a new zone, the help ticket window would re-open its self on its own.

Seems Awsomium is causing problems right now.

Day 29. Opening the store while the game is running still crashes the game.
Is there a progress update for this bug yet?

It is most definately something with the awesomium process, though without being able to pop the hood and see it in live action from the servers perspective, I cant say what it is specifically.

On the last day I actually played (3/3/16), I filled out an in-game ticket regarding my original ticket (2/27/16), and had that same problem with the ticket window appearing everytime I changed zones. It did not cause me to crash though. Was more of an irritant. I discussed both the store dysfunction and that window popping up with a GM, but they advised me that both were to be discussed with technical support.

When tech support did email me, I was so jacked off about them telling me the store dysfunction was related to a security issue with WinXP that I saw red, and I dont think I mentioned the window to them at all, and I haven't changed zones on any of my characters since then.

I'm sure you are aware that Windows XP support ended on April 8th, 2014 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...d-support-help

It is possible that awesomium has coded to prevent use by systems that have lapsed support. This may simply be an issue where the only way to "fix" the crash is to upgrade the OS of the system using it. So in the case of the Tech support telling you the dysfunction was related to a security issue, they were correct.

I'm sorry you feel this is something you feel needs to be fixed, but with the support gone for your version of Windows it does not look like they can "fix" the problem. To suggest that they roll back to when it worked could risk sensitive data and shut down the store for good as these types of systems have to adhere to specifications setup by the trade commission.

Someone on LOTR posted that their testbed had the problem fixed, but there was little detail provided.
Im unsure if the fix can be adapted for the DDO side.
Thats really why I want an update from the DDO side.

It's not a windows XP problem. I run windows 7.
