The Inventory window does have a list tab! {In fact it has multiple tabs: List all, List Weapons, List Armour, List Clothing, List Jewelery, List Pots, List Scrolls, List extras...Did I miss anything?}.
Tab is on the right of your inventory above the pet tab.

You can even have it show only junk, only locked, or only unlocked items, too.
