Whats this server like?

Contemplating touring some of the servers. Leaning towards Argo or Khyber. How is the LE Raid scene here? Anyone doing LE Shroud on the reg? Describe Argo in three words. If Argo was an animal, what animal would it be?

In terms of raids, thee are lots of guilds and channels that run LE on a regular basis. I won't normally pug LE content. It usually isn't worth the frustration in a game I play to relax.

Most of the time, you won't have problems finding groups if you are a decent player and aren't an ass. I only have trouble finding groups if I am i the mood for something very odd, but that is what guildies are for.

I'm only an ass to bad pugs. Then I yell at them to do what they need to do. I lead, and shortman, LE raids regularly on Sarlona. I consider myself pretty good at the game, and am frequently told as much. Ego aside I don't see finding a group to be the issue, if there are people that are capable and willing to run it. This isn't the case on Sarlona these days.

As for PUGing raid, I usually pug them. I tend to build "super pugs" for LE stuff, but it is still a pug. I haven't ever had an issue completing content in PUGs, even if a guild group can be easier.

My main purpose of the tour is just for something fresh. Been on Sarlona for the many years that I've been playing, and wouldn't mind trying out the other servers. The social aspect of DDO is such a huge part of it, and new people could be a neat change.

Argo has changed quite a bit though since it became the Default - The sheer number of extra players has seen to that.

This group has been running high level content and raiding almost every night, since there are so many raids to choose from now. I have found many players with similar play styles to my own. I am told the server has a elitist reputation, but most I tend to run with are not that. So I would say there is a good mix here.

I wouldn't put much faith in so-called reputations of Servers.

Argo like Khyber used to be considered quite Elitist but that hasn't been so for quite some time {long before Argo gained the Default!}.


What I did notice about Argo is that it never had a friendly Harbour {Back in the days when PvP was big no server had a friendly harbour tbh but Argo was particular in that once you hit around Lvl 10-12 the whole atmosphere changed and later levels were like a breath of fresh air!}.

Argo has always been a veteran oriented Server - Now it has had the Default for some time it's changed again, this time because of a huge influx of new players.


If a new player can stick it out to Lvl 10+ then Argo is perhaps the friendliest Server out there after that point. It just requires you to prove you're not just some fly by night gone the next day player before welcoming you into the fold.



Oh and yes I've capped Characters on every Server bar Orien and Thelanis where I think the highest I reached was 18.

If argo was an animal it would be a phoenix because of reincarnation.

Argo is the kind of server where people will call an alt 'my gimp' because it's only a completionist, and where bank mules are double completionists.
