Default Problem staying connected in the evenings.

For about a week I have been logging on at the same time, in the evening, then roughly 20 minutes later I lose connection and can't log back in. I can't get access to the forums, during this time, either.

When I try and load the game back up it gets stuck at Installing Pre Reqs. The next day the game runs fine until the same time that evening.

I ran the game for about two hours yesterday and this morning and had no issues.

Other games (including Lamannia) and websites work fine, during the loss of connection to DDO period.

    Operating System: Win 10

    Can anyone help?

Best guess is that your ISP is traffic shaping you. Basically this means that at certain times of the day they will alter your bandwidth to give priority to other types of users, do a Google search for "traffic shaping" for more information. Beyond that though I am not certain.

That was one of the many thoughts I had, with regards to issues that could be coming from my end.

However the Trace report seems to suggest otherwise.

I discovered recently that DDO is exceptionally sensitive to packet loss. Is there something else happening at that time very evening that could mess with your connection? I had to have my ISP run a new line from the box outside to my condo to resolve mine. Someone else mentioned that the cordless phone his roommate had was just enough of a pulse to cause some packet loss and kill DDO.

Until my ISP ran the new line, I had to reboot the modem and my computer to reset the connection.

I googled some of these IP addresses and found that your ISP is having issues with other MMOs like WOW as well.

Cool thanks for the reply guys,

I don't play WOW so can't verify an issue with it, however I am running D3 and it works fine during the same period that DDO is down.

I will do a Trace on Lamannia tonight and post the results, once the main server disconnects me again that is.

Good luck! I'm having issues with Frontier right now. They have determined that they need to bury new cable to my house. That was a month ago to the day. Yesterday they finally marked the trenching locations (6 meters from the junction to the house). Hopefully it doesn't take them another 30 days to get the job finished.
