Default Suggestions for new Risia recipes

What are your ideas to buff this event the next time? Here are some from me and other thread contributors:

Some are suggesting that it should be able to go on all weapons and items, including named items (see thread) as this will spark a huge interest in it for epics especially.

    New Weapon Recipes for Lootgen

    1. Icy Blast: rare purple coin turn in for recipe; 500 Motes of Winter (must follow icy burst)
    2. Greater Icy Blast: rare purple coin turn in for recipe; 1000 Motes of winter (must follow Icy Blast)
    3. Freezing Gale
    4. Greater Freezing Gale
    5. Freezing Ice (Minor/Normal/Epic for armors)

All weapon recipes can be performed on red augments as well!

    New Augments
    1. red augment: Avalanche - You occasionally harvest the power of an avalanche x cold damage and x untyped damage from the crushing effects. These would be scalable based on level, with a min level of 16. (via Thalmor)
    2. blue augment: A Blue augment that provides ice guard - provides 1D4 cold damage for a level 4 augment, 2D4 cold damage for a level 8 augment. Upto a max of 7D4 for a level 28 augument. (via Thalmor)
    3. blue augment: Freezing Ice guard
    4. red augment: Freezing Ice; ML 16
    5. Diamond Augment of Festival Dexterity +2 (via kilagan800 here)

All glaciation recipes can be performed on white augments!

A challenge board via Casareena here!

Augments with Risia crafting will stack with lootgen with Risia crafting! (note: this can be problematic; see thread) So if you pull a lootgen with an augment slot, double up on the Risia crafting by adding the Risia effect on the augment you plan to slot as well as the weapon itself!

    New Defensive Recipes
    1. Icy Shield: rare purple coin turn in for recipe; 300 motes of Winter (effect: generates Fire Shield: Cold)
    2. Icy Shield augment: as above, but on a blue augment (via Thunir in this thread)
    3. Freezing Ice Guard (for shields and orbs)
    4. Topaz Augment of Slippery Surface Immunity (via kilagan800 here)

    Stronger summons
    1. Stronger snow elemental (via Nyrvjjn)
    2. A yeti! (via Thalmor)

    Some themed gear:
Snowsilk Magerobes - ML 24 Outfit
+Scaled Glaciation, +Scaled Insight Glaciation, +Quality Glaciation, Spell Storing (10% SP Discount), Minor Freezing Ice.
Chillwind Wristwraps - ML 24 Bracers
+Scaled DR / Adamantine, + Scaled Cold Resist, Blue Augment Slot, Green Augment Slot.
    Warwreath - ML 24 Necklace
+Scaled Thornguard, +Scaled Resistance Bonuses, Imbue Weapons : Pierce (+1d6), Colorless Augment Slot.
    (from SoVeryBelgian here)

    Fun Cosmetic Gear
    1. Icy cosmetic gear. Cool winter white gear looks.
    2. White dragon cosmetic gear (not like current armor)
    3. White winter wolf cosmetic pet gear (not like reindeer one)
    4. All white outfit cosmetic gear
    5. Cosmetics with white pelts and antlers! See Maquist's post here!

Earn a permanent companion! See this post from Annex!

From Nonesuch2008: A mega-coin that occasionally spawns and rains down rewards on people below (like a Pinata). See these two posts here and here for more information!

From Erywn--Ice-themed lantern-ring style weapon! Whoa! See post here.

From Aelonwy! Winter hide, Silver Dragon hide, Winter Wolf, Festival Winter Wolf, Frozen Plate

    What else? thoughts?

Icy cosmetics would be fun! As for the weapon buffs, I haven't dealt with icy recipes in a long time so can't say much as to a need for more.

Any ideas as to what to do for a cosmetic? I think a winter wolf one would be funny for druids...

On another note, Icy burst being shifted up to Greater Icy blast for epic lootgen weapons might seem powerful but I think most builds are running with TF, LGS and named weapons in epics anyway. This would be a nice buff for that rare lootgen with maybe the right DR for specific instances.

Hello guys believe that awards of purple coins could pass for a review. Suggested as a more powerful level snow elemental 20 or maybe 25?

yes, that is the idea here--what better crafting recipes might be imagined? The snow elemental is not strong enough for epics; maybe something more compelling like a white dragon?

How about letting them be put on to all weapons and not just lootgen! More people would instantly run it I would imagine!

Wouldn't that be too powerful though? I figure that Risia was meant to make lootgen weapons more appealing--an option to the stronger crafting that is available.

That is why I think that Risia needs epic buffing--maybe make the Icy Blast addition make the lootgen weapons automatically ML 20.

If we can put Risia on augments, though, that would allow for Risia to make its way into TF weapons, should one so choose.

What I would like to see:

For a summons I think a Yeti would be a good one.

A red augment: Avalanche - You occasionally harvest the power of an avalanche x cold damage and x untyped damage from the crushing effects. These would be scalable based on level, with a min level of 16.

A Blue augment that provides ice guard - provides 1D4 cold damage for a level 4 augment, 2D4 cold damage for a level 8 augment. Upto a max of 7D4 for a level 28 augument.

If something like that was available I might actually run this event.

The Yeti could be a Mudman but reskinned, so pretty doable (and it throws snowballs instead of mud, lol)

The red augment that you suggest sounds like crushing wave but with a different damage type/name. Sounds cool!

Blue ice guard is totally doable.

I personally don't think so, with the amount of power that named weapons have today the extra bonuses wouldn't be huge as such but they would add up and there are those who the game that would want it.

I think if it is simply icy burst then it would not be a big deal (other than in heroics in which icy on some of the named weapons would trivialize heroics even more.

My vote is for Risia only on lootgen with augments being a means through which it finds its crafting into named gear, but I think you are right that it would become very active if it could be put on named items.

^^ I know I would care more about it.

You are the one choosing not to play alts.

Casual player now investing way less than I used to into the game, playing 1-3 months at a time and still want nothing to do with Reaper. #improvepuggrouping#alldifficultiesmatter

Given the fire-focus of TF it is an interesting option

Thanks, hopefully they can work in some of the ideas. I think all of the events could use a little update.

Excellent ideas OP and team! I like Risia too much to see it diminish in popularity & participation, and these are exactly the types of ideas that could help to restore both.
"When asked if the developers hate the players, as they make so many challenging jumping puzzles, their response was that they have what they consider a “… normal amount of contempt for the players.” This is good. A dungeon master should always nurse a healthy contempt for his or her players."

    Thx Nonesuch!

Festival events exist to give bursts of extra participation. It seems the reverse happened. Every time one of these events come up, something new should be added.
It is also nice to give vets a reason to do then since they guide new players. Am looking at you, Crystal Cove...
