Sound effects stopping every 5 minutes

I'm not sure wether i'm posting this in the right thread so excuse me in advance if i messed up.

Okay so i've been playing ddo for years now and recently build my own pc, i used to play ddo with epic music on spotify and turn the music bar in game to 0. Running these 2 together has never been a problem, but today i installed DDO again on my new pc, turned the music off and started my spotify playlist when all of a sudden (around 5 minutes after log in) the sound effects (so not the music but the effects of walking and swinging my weapon around) suddenly mute. If i go to the options and pick the other sound device (which doesnt work) and then go back to my main sound device, the sound effects work for 5 minutes again before muting.

I'm not quite sure what the problem is since i don't have this problem in any other games nor have i had it before in ddo.

Solutions i tried:

Restarting the game (still happened 5 minutes after log in)
Restarting Pc
Re-install my sound drivers
Re-install the game
Plugging my sound device in and out

It's not a real big problem or anything but i would love to get it fixed (without changing the sound device back and forth every 5 minutes)

Edit: Even with spotify off the music and effect sounds randomly (not once per 5 minutes but still pretty often) go on mute.

Check under your options in game for audio and look for the playback device area, about half way ish down is an option to let game sounds persist when minimized to desktop so try that and see if it helps. It sounds like Spotify is taking priority whenever it changes tracks, beyond that though I have no idea.
