Default Recalling from LShroud after crafting at first altar while party waits

Not cool. Even on Normal - at least ask the group first if they would mind, so they don't sit waiting at the portal for you.

Sigh. Kids these days. Didn't even have the sense to pretend that he got disconnected. Just said "Thanks guys, recalling now" and left.

So if crafting in LShroud, informing the lead and group that you are there for that is expected. Good to know, ran heroic shroud hundreds of times since I started playing in 2011 but never encountered issues with people crafting there. Ran my first LShroud today and noticed someone did do some crafting and they continued with the raid after that. I'm not at the point to do any crafting there yet but will keep that in mind.

Is there any talk of putting some LShroud altars elsewhere like the heroic altars? Having them on guild ships would make things a lot easier all around.

I apologize that I don't remember the exact quote from Vargouille, but in essence there are no immediate plans to allow altars anywhere outside LShroud.

The problem in this particular case wasn't that the player wanted to do some crafting, it's that he piked in part 1 (never moved after we zoned in), started crafting after looting the chests, didn't say anything while the group waited at the portal to part 2 for him, then just recalled from the raid when he was done, leaving us down 1 player for the rest of the raid. At least he did have the "courtesy" (cough) to say "Thanks, recalling now" when he was finished :/

When I first started running heroic Shroud (before our guild had a ship with altars on it) it was expected that you finish the raid first, then do your crafting afterwards. The portals in part 5 are there for that exact reason, to allow you to return to the other areas after the raid is finished. I also recall seeing players put up LFMs asking for ship invites to do Shroud crafting, or else asking in advice channel. Unfortunately it appears that the devs in their infinite wisdom have decided that allowing GS crafting altars on guild ships was a mistake, and aren't going to allow these sorts of shenanigans in the future for LGS...

Rude, especially for not communicating his plans to the leader. In heroic we had people leave after P4 or just before activating the altar in P5 with DD but this was always conveyed to the party. Sometimes frowned upon (leaving after P4), but doing so without party consent can lead to /squelch and make it harder for the player to get into subsequent runs.

Had the best one the other day.
    • Raid leader forms party, then demands timer for being on timer.
Someone gives him one due to being tired of waiting.
Leader goes afk after a few deaths in part 1 (was afk by 3rd portal).
Comes back (without saying anything) and crafts in part 1.
Waits in part 2 for part 3 to finish.
Crafts in part 3, until part 4 is finished.
Only jumped into part 5 due to other people not going in until he did.
      Dies in part 5.
DCs and does not come back for end chest or completion (thus not on timer)
(add this person onto friends list to keep tabs on him without needing to squelch him)
He joins a shroud run again a few hours later (right after logging on)
Asks for a timer bypass for being on timer.
Someone gives him one (even though I added my input).
He DCs and does not come back after part 3, with the closing remark of thanks I finally finished my crafting.

That is the best I have seen on Ghallanda. You Orien folk need to pick it up a bit.

I would have a sig, but Someone might be offended by it so I will just list characters.
Vicinity, Proximity, and far to many bank toons too list.
-Sorry to any bank toons that are offended by me not listing mine-

That's one way to make it to the 'special' friends list.

I put up a post a while back requesting this and I think Cordovan said they would consider it on the future if there was enough demand for it but there were no plans at the moment.

Seems like they could make some easy money off it - not sure why they would not want to sell us Kraken owners something to fill the empty spots on our ships.

Those that were around when the Shroud first made its debut will remember the following

    1. Those that stop and craft when the alters become available
    2. Those that would run part 1 only and recall as they were hunting Power Crystals

Now common curtesy is to hold off crafting until complete and to wait to recall just before the end. With legendary shroud that would be with the Codex part.

Personally I think part of the problem is there is a group of players that have forgotten Raid Curtesy.

We will see less of this type of thing once these Alters are available elsewhere.
