Basic paladin?

Looking at a basic bf pally build for a few lives down the road.

wanted to have something to look back on when i get this guy there (2nd lifer here)

2 things i am not sure on -

str or cha based? im leaning towards str but that may just be habit

2nd - i miss the cleaves and am hoping that i will be happy with the ones from kotc

overwhelming crit is there i just didnt have acurrent planner that let me take it

STR over CHA, for sure, for most paladin builds. Your build looks fine, although I've never thought Bulwark of Defense is worth the feat.

Bulwark is a placeholder for oc - my planner still had it for needing great cleave

Str vs Cha doesn't make much difference really. Str offers a better DC for tactics and maybe a little bit more DPS, cha more saves, smites and LoH's.

I'd dump dex and wis though, there's no real benefit to spending points there as far as I can tell. Spend those points in cha and you make up for the saves lost, or str to squeese out more dmg.

You will be happy with the cleaves from KotC, they work just like ordinary cleaves just with more+w.

Might consider toughness+epic toughness, with the defender tenacious enhancement it's about 100hp.
