It is not possible to skip the ambush. Logging out, death, and waiting (ten mins) do not work, it just opens the entrance to the ambush. Thus, the minimum kill count is about 33.

Now that TS has been fixed, tomorrow I'll do a minimum kill the 'legit' way and make a video of it. Was prototyping my run with the heroic version and I think should be interesting, will have to use some tech that some people who are in to stealth may find useful.

After that I'll try to get a group together for LE next weekend.

If you are interested you can get the runes in a heroic run, put them on the shard exchange, and then buy them from another toon.

The minimum kill count is actually 34.

However I can't achieve it, because apparently if you don't kill the inevitable fast enough (about 210 seconds), the seer respawns and inevitable can't be killed until seer is killed again. This made me panic a tiny bit, and then I forgot to not die. I then reentered, killed Inevitable, went to Sor'jek, who had a Fire Reaver buddy for no reason (which is unfortunate, because killing him would be another mob beyond the minimum kill count), and then I died again when I rolled a 2 on his stun which he only casts like three times per fight. After that I got blown off, and decided then that the run wasn't particularly achievement worthy.

It's probably possible to position myself in such a way that the two fire giants can't see me from behind the pillar, but mobs often ignore geometry blocking their view just because. It's something I'll have to try next time. Other than that the only way to avoid killing them is to either just tank them, or just CC them which is what I'd do on group LE run. It seems every mob in TS will return to their original position after being moved, which might be something specific to Raids because in other quests it's pretty random which mobs will stay put and which will return.

Video up to the first death. Mildly amusing part at 27:04. I only had time for one run, and this was the first, so I do a lot of embarrassing things trying to be fancy and not get noticed, when popping Uncanny Dodge, killing what needs to be killed and then running away is enough. Some mobs will not shed their aggro (Fire Giants) but logging out and back in will force them to.

The moment I died a little inside.

The EXACT moment I gave up on my dreams.

After that I joined a PUG LE one and dominated the kill count, which made me feel a bit better.

Some time back I soloed it on heroic while way over level, I forget the difficulty. I did something wrong, got to the final fight and found I was missing a rune. I was able to blast him with spells.
