This build, OTOH, I would consider obsolete; I never got around to updating it since the U25 rogue overhaul. And while I have posted other Acrobat builds here & there, all of them rely on at least +3 or 4 STR tome to hit THF feat pre-reqs, so not exactly newbie-friendly.

Also there aren't enough gimpy flavor builds listed, so I nominate this DEX-based elf rogue AA.
Very nice. All three changes/additions updated. Thanks much!

One thing I noticed is the NoYellowBar 2.0, which is Pal14/Rgr6, is listed under Ranger, not Paladin. I can sort of see it remaining in Ranger (being a ranged build), but I'd think being primarily Paladin it should be at least cross-posted there. I know if I was looking for a Paladin build for a past life or whatever, that I wouldn't necessarily think to look under other classes lol

    Moved it to paladin.

Unlike Steel Shrine, I can see why I put NoYellowBar in the wrong place: I think of it as a ranger build because v1.0 was one. 2.0 changed it to predominantly paladin.

Default An addition to the list

    Hi,

I think this one should be included too, more than likely under out of date builds, but was certainly good in its day:

    Dark Knight by Dark-Star

I still play this one with a few small tweaks

hey Ellis, saw you post once in which you were ready to throw in the towel. It was adding to my gloom & doom.

I am glad you are still here.

    Dark Knight by Dark-Star
This is not intended to be a historic archive of classic builds, but a collection of post-U19 builds which are still relevant by current DDO standards. The Dark Knight is clearly obsolete: 4 1/2 years old and - unless I missed it - never updated for U19, much less for Vanguard additions in U23. There are other more recent pal 18 / ftr 2 builds which could be used instead.

Granted, I still use it and it isn't that out-dated. The build thread may be, but the principle is still fairly solid. Happy to be pointed in the direction of an 18.2 build that is relevant. Contrary to your statement above, the OP contains a number of "out-dated" builds, leastways that's what the heading says. I would deem out-dated to be non-relevant, just my opinion.

The distinction is that all of the builds in this thread were created after the Update 19 Enhancement overhaul, AFAICT; the "outdated" builds are the ones which haven't been updated in a long time or haven't kept pace with the power creep over the last 18-24 months. E.g., Cetus was once one of the best melee builds in DDO, but its DPS has fallen far behind the pack since then. However, these builds can still be played as-is; hence the distinction between "outdated" vs "obsolete." There are tons of builds like the Dark Knight which were abandoned by the time U19 came out, either because they're no longer relevant or the players have stopped playing - or at least logging into the forums. Dark-Star hasn't been around in four years, unfortunately.

Again, this thread is meant to be a collection of post-U19 builds which are still relevant by current DDO standards, not a historical archive (IMO).

The tentative plan going forward is to update the build lists quarterly, delaying a month to give new threads some time to gain traction. So like now (early May) I checked for threads from January 1st to April 1st. In early August I'll check for April 1st to July 1st, etc... I did add some April threads just now; the ones that already had clear traction.

Sorry, -'not experienced at posting on here, so hope I've chosen an appropriate thread. 15 Pally for Holy Sword & Zeal, 5 'Lock for Shining Through. Throw Your Weight Around from Dwarf. All level ups into Con, All points to get Throw Your Weight Around, Shining Through and goodies from Sacred defender, including +6 Con & + 20% HP.

Seemed worth posting as I'm surprised I haven't seen anything quite like it on the forums yet.

You might be the first to post a TYWA variant, but the core concept / class split is almost a year old.

'Fair enough. Thanks for the link. 'Seems a very survivable build, but can picture things taking an annoying ammount of time if DPS is sub-par.

Same problem every con dwarf build faces 18 AP just to use Con as damage stat, no tacticals because con, poor to hit (I don't care what any Forum DDO'er says here having a 50's to hit stat = too many grazing hits and 0's) you're also doing significantly lower DPS due to con.

In the end for what? 297 extra hps? 7 level ups in Con and 6 from defensive stance plus a few odds and ends from trees and perhaps destiny, so maybe 18 con points you wouldn't have otherwise afforded? Not even 300hp... meh

'Compare to INT based costing 12 AP:
70 INT to both to hit and damage is equivalent to 100 melee stat without the drawbacks of rage (every 2 points of INT is 1.5 damage mod). Insightful reflexes synergy.

    Compare to CHA based:
PDK blades + tacticals bonus (3 AP)
    Bard CC Synergy
    Divine Might Synergy
    Divine Grace Synergy
    KotC Synergy

They need to make Throw your weight around to hit and damage and allow it to be your tactical DC stat as well IMO.'

I know Im late to the party here and its been a while since this thread has been active but Ive been using this build and with an accuracy item slotted I have no trouble hitting anything.

No trouble of any kind in any EE's so far and loads of HP's. Can actually melee down with good effect due to the SWF speed and the + 50% damage.

Which ones of these builds are gimped by the shared boost cooldown?

Any which chose that race solely for the dual action boosts.

Human still has the advantage of an extra feat, so for any build which is feat starved, human may still be the best choice. Bladeforged still has the recon SLA, so any build which relies on that for healing, is still fine.

As a result of the class passes, it is generally the case that AP are better spent in class trees and not the racial tree. So most racial benefits are likely to be innate rather than from enhancements. For those who enjoy the flavor of playing a certain race with a certain build, however, they are no longer forced to choose a dps-deficient option if they want that flavor.

Just wanted to say that this thread has been nagging at me for the past few weeks. I would very much like to update it soon, but it's in competition with my current TR which is getting pretty fun.

Not sure if you are still updating this thread EllisDee, but if you are, I wrote an unarmed monk build guide for the monk pass. The thread contains two example builds, the first without harper in grandmaster of flowers, which I actually played, and the second with harper in legendary dreadnought.

Also, The Arcane Warrior contains 3 theory-crafted melee/caster wiz/fighter hybrids and 1 build I actually played to cap, the int-based half-elf version in post #30 of that thread.
