first time/first life Paladin question

I have st arted a paladin with these stats. str 18, dex 8, con 15, int 12, wis 10, cha 14
when I try to pull the cure light wounds spell into my bar it says "failed spell action. your ability score is too low" what stat is needed for casting cure light wounds and what stat lvl is needed? or am I just missing something? again, sigh.

Wisdom.

You need to find a wisdom item in order to cast
Level 1 Paladin Spells you need 11 Wisdom
Level 2 Paladin Spells you need 12 Wisdom
Level 3 Paladin Spells you need 13 Wisdom
Level 4 Paladin Spells you need 14 Wisdom

Items will count for this so with your base ten all you need is a +4 wisdom item and you are set.

You need to have wisdom score equals to 10+spell level.

In your case 11 wisdom score to cast Cure Light Wounds, just equip one wisdom item.

Itis a second level spell, but I would guess it is your wisdom that is the issue.

If you find a wisdom item you should be able to cast, but remember if you take it off you loose that ability to cast.

Another quick fix is to ask around for an invitation to a guild ship. Guild buffs grant +2 to all stats for 3-5 hours depending on the guild level. By the time you're ready to cast 3rd level spells, you'll probably have found at least a +1 item. If for some reason you haven't, you can always spend a couple action points in the Human tree and grab one.
