Default Idon't want to be squishy anymore.

Okay, so I started playing the game back in 2010, when the base build I used here was still doing good things. Then I took a break and only recently came back and found out that it's not so great anymore. I have 3 past lives, 2 ftr, 1 barb, and I just TR"d him again, so on 4th life as we speak. I plan on going pure barb this life and want some input as to how I should spec him for EE content. I was going TWF with khopesh's, but I think I want to go greataxe this life. I have been farming for gear for the next life, and amassed a small pile of things for him, but I ask for your advice on which gear I should have primarily for boss tanking.

I'm a leeeeeeetle confused. You say you want pure barb, but the build you posted is definitely not pure. Someone might be able to offer more specific advice once you clear that up.

Regardless of pure or multiclassed, some of your feat selections are odd. Why so many weapon material feats? Just swap weapons when DR is an issue. Also, you probably want to take Perfect TWF no matter what you decide, as the Doublestrike applies to all fighting styles. Toughness generally isn't chosen. You took Heavy Armour Master, so presumably you'll be wearing plate, so why take Dodge? You're gonna hit the dodge cap right quick. Ditto taking the Blitz dodge version rather than the PRR one. I would also try to fit in Momentum Swing and Lay Waste in Dreadnaught (requires at least a Cleave feat); they are great AoE DPS and can knock down.

People who take 3+ Fighter will generally also take the Defender stance for easy PRR/MRR. How were you planning to heal yourself in EEs? Blood Strength in Ravager is excellent self-healing, and taking Keen Edge locks that out.
I Cannith-craft (150 levels in all schools) for free on Thelanis if you provide all needed materials.

With 12 Fighter Levels I'd go Sword + Board Occult Slayer personally.

Stalwart Stance, Some Vanguard Shield Bonuses, 40+ points in OS. Forget about Rage, Forget about Kensai.

Change Stunning Blow and TWF to Shield Mastery and Imp Shield Mastery.

    Pure barb is pretty simple

    Power Attack, Cleave, Great Cleave
    Fighting Style x3
    IC: Critical
    Heavy Armor
    Overwhelming Critical

41 AP FB Capstone no Tier 5's
38 AP Ravager Tier 5's Blood Strength, Crit Rage.
    01 AP Human Damage boost.

IMO TWF is better on a barbarian then THF, you heal more and in general do more DPS.

OK, to clear things up, that was the previous build. I have since TR'd and am sitting at level 1 as I type this. That build was from like 4 years ago, and was still halfway relevant to the game. I am looking for help in building him in this life, gearing options, feats and enhancements. I do like TWF better than THF, but which is better for DPS, or should I be more focused on self-healing and a lower DPS? These are the kinds of things I am looking for guidance on. I can spring a trap with the best of them, and get hit in the face, but I am attempting to build a better toon, so I can be a better player with it. I hope this kinda clears things up.

    Get your silver flame favor.
Have dat plat fer dem pots and use em!
This is very important for running EE on a barb.

Do the build grail said. OR
    Tier 5 Frenzied,
    more human HAMP,
    +earsmash from occult slayer
    while leveling do
take as much hamp, supremecleave, and sprint boost, as you can
barbarian is the best heroic life a person can do (minus a sorc maybe)

Do not neglect sprint boost. more manuverability = less getting hit and more dead champs with ear smash

Carnifex is your friend from 4-15. It's a Delera's Twink item that is HAawseom. http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Carnifex
If you can craft a holy ghostbane maul, I would. A friend can give you one too. Helps a ton with leveling.

Grab a heroic elite rift maker at 15.

Grab a drow axe at 21ish.

Grab an epic riftmaker at 28.

If you're feeling squishy this item is your #1 upgrade for leveling in epics:
    http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Guardia...ing_(Level_19)

after that is an improved deception item
    i.e., golden guile from heroics

those 2 items are essential for reducing incoming damage

No one else has said that, It's worth repeating even with Blood Strength and native Barbarian Healing you are still going to need potions for those moments where you just need a lot of HP back right now.

Cure Serious Wounds posts will last a while given your Healing Amp and the low damage of most heroic Mobs, but the closer you get to 20 and EE the more you will need a bigger heal option and SF pots are still the only option for that. (Well you could use store pots of you have the money but that's not everyones situation or desire)
