Happy Early 10th, DDO. Here's a glimpse back in time.

I don't usually post on the forums... but came across this on my old PC and wanted to share it.

I began playing DDO in 2006. My first character was on Lhazaar server, a paladin by the name Velluminous. He came into the world at Smuggler's Rest, made his way to the harbor, and Survived the Low Road. His favorite place to crash for the night (log out) was inside the harbormaster's house. He served me well in Stormreach before the Vault of Night appeared, and before the Marketplace Bazaar (tent) fell. He's seen the world grow and change in so many ways. Friends met and lost. Lhazaar moving to Ghallanda. Stormreach Port becoming the Inspired Quarter. So many, many overhauls to Ascension Chamber...

This is the oldest screenshot I have of him from early 2006, not long after his creation. I had just made it to the Hammer & Chain in the harbor.




Now here he stands, nearly a decade later. Sure, he's been renamed (to remove his 'Lhazaar' last name), reincarnated, and respecced more times that I care to recall... but he's still that same character who walked with me across the beaches of Smuggler's Rest so many years ago.

Charm used to go on for a long long long time... say if you needed a troll army to kill everything in Meridia

Not as far back as these other images, but this was from a thread a long time back where people were "making" images for DDO ... and when people believed that you could use skills on chests to get better loot GO GO DIPLOMACY!

It was when Totmacher was still around going on about Free Nat Gan....I was still new to the game (it was Sept. 2010 so about a year in) and the forums....I thought it was the funniest thing to see the urn here so I pic'd it - I must have posted something about it since it is in my flikr account.

Ahh Totmacher - the stories, the exploits, the singlehanded decimation of Korthos Army.....those were the days.

Why I have handwraps and an axe on my toolbar - I will never know....can't even remember which alt this was.

Unfortunately I don't have a screenshot from when I started playing (beta stress test, official game release), but this is my first one, from my first dragon raid attempt, a failed run, in the beginning of june 2006.



Nonetheless, I still remember the Euphonia's mission, the four training rooms, the Goodblade quests, the low road. For a long time, the only way to respec a character was to reroll.
