With the introduction of aasimar would it be better to go str and aasimar for this build?

Unarmed monk guide with builds|The Arcane Warrior: wiz/fighter hybrids|White Feather Sniper: CC/dps focused deepwood stalker|The Divine Cuisinart: divine crusader tempest|The Count of Monte Cristo: swashbuckler|Hassan's Assassin: dex assassin|Dubbell O'Seven: WF artificer|Santa's Little Slayer: dragonmarked elf centered kensai
Do all the effects go to thrown weapons also? I ask since the new knife fighting tree is coming out I was thinkng of doing a throwing dagger build pure ranger. Most of my enhancements were to go to knife fighting tree, deepwood sniper and arcane archer just a few minor points.
All of the rgr caps provide +4 DEX, making DEX vs STR at best a wash, IMO. Plus you need DEX 21 for Combat Archery, so it's not like you can afford to dump DEX entirely if that was your goal. +2 base WIS means higher Paralyzing DCs, of course, but unless you're going fully WIS-based, does it really matter?
I think SSG fixed all the imbue bugs so nothing from AA tree works with anything but arrows. DWS bonuses should apply to throwers, but since Vistani already provides crit range and morale Doubleshot bonuses, this renders DWS somewhat superfluous. The best parts of DWS IMO are the tier-5 abilities, but if you're going tier-5 Vistani, those are moot as well.
So it's doable but you're not gaining much from pure rgr on a thrower build either. Maybe 41 Vistani / 31 DWS / 8 Harper if you insist on going that route?

Semi-retired Build Engineer. Everything was better back in our day. Get off my lawn.
(Just want to bump this thread back to mainstream discussion on ranger forums)
It's incredibly useful with tons of info, like Unbogwah s thread)
This build shows it was last updated for U29. Are there any changes needed for U46 or upcoming U47?
