Default Logging onto world server problem

I can start the game and log in, then when I get to the world choices, I click on a world (server) and I get returned to logon page where I have to put password in. can anyone help me?

When I un-click the option to have more than one game running at a time, when I do the above, it tells me I have another game currently running, but I don't have. so I am lost. please help anyone.

Have you tried an alternate launcher ? ( PyLOTRO or DDO-ML )

From my experience, since the implementation of Akamai, they works a lot better and are way more reliable.

In your task manager, you may already have a process running called dndclient.exe that may be stopping you. Try ending that and re-launching DnD again see if that helps. I had the same problem for awhile.

Ya, I thought as much, so I looked and found no DDO files of any type. not even the Akamai files,or launchers of any type, that is why I am at a loss. Great suggestion though, I went into the msconfig as well, and then I went to my firewall to make sure the files needed had access. all to no avail. I even cross checked the port address' all seemed to be as it should be, but I still cannot get into any servers (worlds)

try turning it off and then back on again. Let's start over, start the game in windowed mode, not full screen. This lets us see if any windows errors pop up. Typically, when selecting a world, the game actually launches a different executable program. This has been the cause of problems for ages, both for firewalls and for administrator rights that allow these programs to communicate with each other, as well as read and write to the same directory.

After getting the game in windowed mode, try running it as an administrator. Right click it, and select Run as Admin. See if this works. If not, navigate to your DDO Directory, and right click on all 3 of the turbine exe's you'll find in there. Turbinelauncher, dndclient, etc... Run them all as admin at least once.

Then go to control panel and launch the incredably confusing windows firewall. See if any of those exe's are listed anywhere. Good luck.

    ok, from the top...
I went to event logs in admin and saw nothing there that has any errors, warnings, or even an event that occurred, even when I suggest Win mode, will do same thing, as soon as I click on a server (World), the screen reverts to sign on page. no pop-ups show. all servers are green when I get to the page. I even tried to go to another world and same thing occurred. tried running in Admin, from every possible .exe available in directory as well as from shortcut on desktop. I even tried listing them all as Admin at same time, but still nothing. I went to firewall as allowed every possible .exe to have access...nothing! then I went into inbound/outbound permission rules to see if they were being allowed, some where others were not. tried to allow each one separately as well as together, still nothing. I went into Forums and downloaded another stack of files that promised to bypass Akamai, but same thing happened. Was suggested to use another platform the called DDO-ML (or DDO-ML you can visit that thread :
https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...ghlight=DDO-ML ) but I am not sure if it will work, and I am not sure as to how to set it up. So, I un-installed everything, Once again, and deleted all folders and files to DDO and am about to download a new, fresh, file from the DDO site and will install from the top. If it doesn't work, I will have to call support to see what to do from here. I am a VIP and I am getting really frustrated. I have not had these problems before, The game is currently installed on my laptop and works fine! I just wish I could figure this problem out. so if you know of any tricks or ideas that could help, please let me know.

I had DX 11 installed. I did not know, but DDO game requires that DX-9 be installed even if you have DX 10, 11 or even 12 installed. something about having 9 installed on the computer makes the game work properly. now that I know this, I will keep a file for Direct X ver. 9 on hand at all times...just in case I need to re-install the game for any reason.
Again, I want to thank you for your help, and guidance. My you have a Merry Christmas and enjoy the new year to come.

    Glad you got it solved.

Sadly I have a tendency to assume that the issue is the launcher... as it tends to have a lot of not launching cases. So I went the wrong way.
