Setting aside that I still believe AA imbues applying to non-arrows is a bug and therefore this build is only a patch away from being nerfed into oblivion...

That's a fairly optimistic prediction, IMO, since the Terror Arrows description simply says, "On Vorpal: Target is subject to a Phantasmal Killer effect." So it might simply be the regular spell, which means it can be Deathblocked. For that matter, the description doesn't explicitly mention that the PK DC is based on the same formula as the other AA effects and...well, this is DDO. Never presume things work like you think they ought to work until you test it for yourself.

The idea I had been toying with was a build with Paralyzing Arrows + ranged Coup de Grace (which doesn't rely on Swashbuckling): immobilize then instakill. More reliable than relying on vorpal effects, IMHO, if you can get your DCs high enough...that's a very big if, though.

Turbine: we can't fix our code, so it's a "lore thing."

Well, all I can say is good luck and please don't delete this thread when imbues are fixed. I like being able to look up crazy build experiments!

I thought I saw dev quotes in which they finally capitulated on Fury Eternal working with ranged builds - something along the lines of "this was never WAI but it's been in place for so long that we would break too many builds if we fixed it now, so we'll leave it alone" - but I may have been mistaken.

With imbues, they're clearly bugged insofar as you have to employ a workaround to get them to apply to bolts & throwing weapons. But is the bug that it works and isn't supposed to; or that it's always supposed to work but doesn't unless you use the workaround? My rule of thumb is "if it's a favorable bug that the devs don't talk about nor put on the Known Issues list, then it's considered an exploit and not WAI." There's no mention of it on the Known Issues list and it is an undocumented boost to non-archer-based ranged DPS; ergo, it is an exploit. [See also: TWF feats + wolf builds]

EDIT: I may be wrong of course but my pessimism about such things is rarely disappointed...
Then again, they completely deleted WAI critical rage druids and left the exploit build as the only high dps alternative, so who knows.
IIRC, the competence bonus to crit range from Keen Edge has never worked with wolf builds since U19. So it wouldn't surprise me if, when they switched Crit Rage from untyped to competence bonus, it broke it with wolf builds as well.
