    Default Legendary Tempest's Spine

    Ran this quests twice tonight and ran into some issues (beholder not spawning, drow death priests not spawning, INT rune needing over 60 INT on LE, etc), but that's not what this thread is about.

    Tempest's Spine is my absolute favorite quest in the game, but I'm a quite disappointed of the Legendary version. I was completely expecting to see a new story, with different enemies, and certainly a different enemy end fight. Unfortunately, that's not what we are getting. It's just a simple cut and paste of the Heroic version, including the story, only with enemies who hit harder (like fire elementals who shoot Meteor Storm) and have more hit points. Frankly, I was bored.

    Story-wise, it also makes absolutely no sense. We already killed Sor'jek at level 10, and then killed him in his lich form at level 17. Suddenly he's back to his original self, and alive, at level 31. There's simply no creativity here. I get that The Fall of Truth seemed to end the original storyline, so why not a new end boss? A Slaad perhaps.

    LTS is supposed to drop LGS mats, so why not at least have some sort of tie-in? Thematically, it doesn't make sense for LTS or LHoX to drop mats, with no storyline involvement. They just seem like filler quests, by simply making them harder and adding nothing else. Even if LTS gets delayed for a future patch or Update, I'd be okay with it, as long as things are actually changed. Devs, please give us something more than just the same quest with more damage and more hit points. Please.

    ^ Yup. Literally the same just enemies deal more damage and have more hit points. That's it

    Last I knew, the devs said the raid hadn't been scaled properly and wasn't finished. Unless something got turned on between yesterday evening and now, I believe it's not done.

    At least we are finally getting some resemblance of end game. I still don't get why they had to raise level cap and give legendary stuff. I mean I get Ethan they want to sell bypasses as opposed to people going for duped ones, but still. Who is going to play the lower raids if they keep invalidating them...

    Sounds fun to me. I like being able to run a quest at low level and at 30. I think every quest should have these two options, and every quest that doesn't yet should be upgraded with minimal effort.

    It sure does.

    TS is one of the best quests in the game.

    If it's going to be resurrected for end game (and I'm glad it is) it should impress... not bore and regurgitate.

    The 2nd time I ran it last night, a Dev was in the group. He had to spawn it for us to get that rune. After the bridge to the Inevitable, the gates came down, but the Drow Death Priests didn't spawn, so the gates never raised. He had to teleport us past them both ways, so we could get the 3rd rune. The INT rune was over the max of the group on Legendary Elite (59, which was on my pretty-gimped Wiz.) He increased his INT straight to 100 to get us by, and said he would check what the rune is set to on Monday. Other buggy stuff like treasure bags not being able to be picked up, Sor'jek being extra vulnerable to all damage types, bugged items in chests (a couple B-swords with X2 Bludgeoning and X1 piercing [?] damage.) So they are certainly aware of the bugs, which should be expected for a first real full build.

    Yes, the scaling and stuff isn't done yet. But the design is. My opinion (purpose for creating this thread) is to suggest to them that they hold off on releasing it, and make changes to create a different quest experience than the Heroic version. A different end fight and different mini-bosses to get the runes, at a minimum, would make it far more entertaining.
