The new and improved Pets

Logged into lamania after character coping Fawngate, took level 30 and choose improved Augment Summoning and scion of Elysium.
Twisted in natural shielding
No ship buffs
Have good equipment


First thing I notice is the ability stats look similar, so after some checking around I find improved augment summon is {checking applied?} listed in the character feat list.

Edit: I found Improved Summoning under Epic Feats, silly me.

Second thing I notice is snoopy (druid wolf pet) has 201 PPR and about 2K hit points.
Fort is at 300% (wearing heavy TF epic 30 DR armor)
AC is 82 (seems a bit poor)
BAB is 25 (but wolf is a level 30 fighter)

Wearing the fire collar from ToEE, snoopy is doing about 125ish base damage +25ish +25ish on kobolds.

Bug reported improved augment summoning as its obviously not listed in heroic feats, but now found under epic feats.
Having trouble with tooltip delay to check it out (pet tooltips don't work except on armor+collar)
Might have to log into live to compare stats.


209 fort with no armor, all past lives, natural shield, both augment feats and legendary pet feat, and tenacious pact

so, legendary = 100
augment summoning = 50%
natural shielding = 0
uncoming storm = 0
so improved augment summoning = 50% ?
druid past lives = 0
and where is the 9 coming from?


Stats w/o armor
str 73 (pact str applied for +6) but only granting +4 for some reason
dex 69
con 69 (capstone not granting +1 moral bonus here)
int 38
wis 49
cha 42

This might be right, I think 69 was the best I could get before?
And I can go up to 77 str now, which is +8 more.
So I am going to assume all is working here.

Does strength of the pack capstone for wolves even work?
I have never encountered thus.
There is no way to hot bar it.

ToEE collar vs boss kobold DPS in the dojo = 135ish weapon damage plus 25 fire

dryiad elder shows epic summons +X +Y
also show able ability bonus

wolf does not show epic summons buff <<--- bug there
does not show able abilty bonus


So wolf might or might not be getting melee power, which is a big thing.

Enjoyed the preview of the event.

I liked the recycled challenge approach, might be fun technique to use again in another way (return to korthos or the like with a raid of MP?)

Was able to pike 50% and take care of mom during the preview.

Fawngate's Wolf did kills while I was afk and they counted as party kills.

Did the challenges twice, was fun and quick.
Looking like 4X challenge runs = ghostly +2 wis augment, so looking forward to the event returning.



Free Feat Swap went as follows:

Fawngate:

Max Earthquake = Spell Focus Evo, GSF Evo, Epic SF EVo, Completionist, Wizard past life, Heighten, twists, Thunderforged equipment, etc..

Mitigation = Quicken (as seem above heavy armor is no longer auto choice), Augment Summons

Power = Empower Spell, Maximize Spell, Epic Spell Focus Spellcraft, Hellball, Ruin


Max STR for Fawngate's Wolf while in Archmage/Augment Summons/Primal Twists/Ship Buffed/8 points in Harper tree = 82 str per 3ish minutes with animal growth
Looking forward to running her wolf thru Bargain of Blood only using wolf/dryad summons for dps while Fawn buffs them.
Since temp hp = buffing, surely healing = buffing and would be allowed.
I am thinking we can beat that 3 hour posted Bargain of Blood summons run someone posted awhile back.

Just epic reincarnated, so no need.
The challenge xp is really good first time thru, worth xp farming run.

Ok on live I could reach 82, and now on lamnia I can reach 86 str
epic pact str makes 90

Which mean harper tree is not applying to wolves but is applying to drydai elder.
Also Epic summons buff: the +melee power per epic level is not applying to wolves pets but is applying to summons


Pulled out oyxn panther which shows epic summons but does not show harper bonus

Ok, seems pet dropped 50ish PPR suddenly from 150 down to 200, so dismissed and resummoned, and now wolf has epic summons.

However, it seems druid wolf can lose it.

Hmm..., shades of temp buffs negating such?

Fort went up to 360 now.

Zoning into epic shroud normal ---- poof epic summons gone from pet.


Dismissed wolf pet, resummoned wolf pet, epic summons has returned.
(note dismissing pet will get rid of ship buffs. self buffs, party buffs, etc)

zone into vale wilderness --- poof epic summons is gone again

dismiss pet, resummons and epic summons is back


by the way, epic shrouds monsters have DR silver+ good
which means its TF + Good weapon buff for wolves to break DR

Ok, so the next big question, is what happens while rezoning inside a dungeon?

So, causal LoD Epic ---- entered druid wolf lost epic summons

resummoned druid wolf, summoned oyxn pather, summoned dryiad elder --- all have epic summons

breezed thru to first rezone after traps

check all three --- still have epic summons


panther and wolf missing harper able bonus that dryaid has

I'm a big fan of pets…and am keeping my fingers crossed the changes will be enough to make pets an asset rather than a distraction

Apparently reclogging in, now shows my ship buffs from character transfer, and now we are showing the hero's feast able bonus picture.
(which might include harper)

yepper, its base 73 str instead of 69

You can thank my mom for this discovery.

When you die and your pet doesn't die, your wolf pet loses epic summons buff.


On the other hand, when is the last time you went afk, only to return with your wolf alive and you dead?

Interestingly, onyx panther did not lose epic summons buff when I died.

Well, back after lunch, and I decided Fawngate needed some more sp.

So, back the shrine for a triple rest:

I shrined ~~ same as usual.

Oynx Panther shrined ~~ lost epic summons buff.

Druid Wolf pet shrined ~~ lost epic summons buff.

More bug reports to do...done.

Only Horned Devils and Pit Fiends have both silver +good DR all other devils are good or silver. Haven't played LedShroud yet but in heroic only Harry qualifies.

however on EN we finished after about 5~6 stones

so maybe grand summoner/improved augment summoning and the like helped
