Functionality of Orbs and Shield feats/enhancements

I have never used an orb before, so I have no clue what is compatible and what is not.

What shield feats work with orbs? Improved Shield bash, shield mastery...etc

Is it considered a shield for vanguard abilities - to the fore, shield combatant, vicious shield, shield specialization, stunning shield, shield riposte, missile shield, shield charge...etc

What about stalwart defender - overbalance, defensive stance, counterattack

Nothing works from vangaurd. None of the shield feats either. I did not test shield deflection, however. But since it looks to be shield specifically coded, I doubt it.

Overbalance does work and is coded into the orb. But without the vanguard shield bashes, I can't imagine it's worth anything. The shield enhae bonus from defender gets added to ac for the orb, but that is so minimal its not worth anything either.

Easy: none of them. For a little while, the Shield Mastery feats were bugged and provided +doublestrike (but not +PRR) with orbs; but that bug got patched in U24. If there are any lingering shield bugs WRT orbs, I'm not aware of them.

I could not test this myself since cannot use iconic to do this, but are you aware whether or not Dwarf Fortress works with orb in off-hand?

Pretty sure the answer is either "no" or "it's a bug;" so either way I wouldn't base a build on it.
