In-game store won't load

I have had a black screen since Friday, 06 November.

I spoke to a PC user and they were having a similar issue, which started on the same date, so I doubt it's a Mac/PC thing.

If I highlight the screen with the cursor, I can see the word "Loading…" in the top left corner.

I have power-cycled the modem.

I have reinstalled the client.

Suggestions?

So technical support has contacted me, and twice they have closed the ticket without resolving the issue.

I have now had to submit three tickets for the same issue, without it being resolved.

Is there some sort of communication problem here? When a job is "closed" that usually mean's it's done, and no further is required. This job isn't done. The store is still broken.

Why do they continue to close the ticket(s)?

2. Re-name the preferences in the “Documents” folder
3. Run the game in windowed mode
4. Check to see if the Help menu displays correctly: Displays correctly

15. Left the store page up for a significant amount of time to see if it eventually loads or gives a time out message: Left the store open for several hours. It neither loads, nor times out.

Quit the DDO client, and open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal

If you are running OSX 10.10.0 – 10.10.3 type:

sudo discoveryutil mdnsflushcache

if you are running any other system type:

sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder

You will need to provide your admin password.

This flushes the Domain Name Service caches. It won't hurt anything. No guarantees, but this might help.

I am a Windows user, but same problem. I opened a ticket a few days ago on support.turbine.com but no response.

It is in ~/Library/Application Support/com.turbine.dndclient

Hold down the option key and use the"Go" menu in the Finder to go to the Library folder. Then you can navigate to the com.turbine.dndclient folder.

In there, you will see a Cache folder. It should be safe to delete that.

But if you ask me, if anything is messed up, it's going to be that Cookies file you will see in there as well. I strongly recommend deleting it and seeing if that fixes it. I deleted mine and although it gets recreated when you start up the client, when you open the store a whole pile of new xsolla.com cookies get added to it. There is no question that it is store-related. I feel confident that this will help.

You won't be able to find it with Spotlight or manually. It is in the hidden Libraries folder. If you can't figure out how to use the option key and the "Go" menu, then try this:

Note that all that punctuation is important. Don't try to guess. Just copy and paste it if need be.

It did not ask me for server name/password again.

It did play the opening sequence again, and some graphics settings have changed.

Removing the caches and the preferences will put you very close to where you would be with a clean install on a new machine. I suspect that the problem lies outside DDO, and is in your system somewhere.

The next thing I am going to suggest will be a bit more complicated.

Quit the client and open /Applications/Utilities/Console.

It will open and have a section called "All Messages" selected and ready to go.

Click the "Clear Display" button to get a fresh start.

Launch the client, select a toon and enter the game.

Once you are in the game, use command-H to hide it.

Copy the text that came out in the console window and paste it in a code block like this:

There is nothing particularly interesting in my console although the Awesonium code uses some deprecated functionality that repeatedly produces warnings to the console.

But maybe your console will be more interesting.

Removing the caches and the preferences will put you very close to where you would be with a clean install on a new machine. I suspect that the problem lies outside DDO, and is in your system somewhere.

The next thing I am going to suggest will be a bit more complicated.

Quit the client and open /Applications/Utilities/Console.

It will open and have a section called "All Messages" selected and ready to go.

Click the "Clear Display" button to get a fresh start.

Launch the client, select a toon and enter the game.

Once you are in the game, use command-H to hide it.

After I clear it, go back to the client, open the store, and then go back to console, nothing appears in the console.

There are several choices in the left hand side bar. Should one of those in particular be selected?

Also, If I just leave the console running, and open the store without clearing it, nothing further is added. It produces the same code as seen above. However, If I have “All Messages” selected on the left side of the console — which I believe is called the Log List — when I clear it, select something different like “SYSTEM LOG QUERIES” or “FILES” and then go back to “All Messages” I get a ton of code. Thousands of lines. Is that what we are looking for? Perhaps it's just a screen refresh thing.

There is probably something in the DDO code or in one of the third party support processes they fire up that is using features that were added in 10.9. The client itself works in 10.7, but it looks like the store currently requires 10.9 or higher.

The store only stopped working on Friday, 06 November, 2015.

I have not changed my operating system since I started playing.
