Disconnected from game after "Log Out"

UPDATE 11/21/15: This issue appears to be related to firewall settings in my McAfee software. Though I'm not certain why those same settings did not create the problem pre-patch 28.1, making a slight adjustment has solved the problem:

I don't know if this is really a "bug" or not, but I did log a bug report 10/23 just in case: Bug #24027-104078 Turbine QA. Also, I do understand from the auto-reply email:

"The report you have submitted here was done via the "Report a Bug" form, which will not necessarily result in a timely response or resolution to your issue. On the "Report a Bug" page, this information is reiterated for your convenience. While we may investigate reports submitted via the 'Report a Bug' form, QA cannot resolve individual or character issues in game or on the forums."

I didn't see this issue below noted in the "known issues" - maybe I missed it, but I didn't find it. I had trouble locating some similar threads I'd seen earlier, but finally found a couple. Apologies for creating a separate thread, but at least I'm not alone with this problem:

Since 28.1, as I click on "log out" from the main menu to return to the character selection screen, I get completely disconnected from the game. I do have multiple internet tabs open (yahoo or google, Youtube, DDOWiki, DDO forums), and have for most of the 5 or so years I've played without this issue occurring previously. The disconnects occur whether I have these tabs open or not. Computer, anti-virus, firewall, operating system, fiber-optic connection, etc. have remained the same since pre-28.1. I get disconnected from the game usually after each log out, but sometimes I might swap between as many as 3 characters before the disconnect happens. So far, not more than 3 swaps though. It's acting almost as if I selected "Exit" from the main menu instead of just "Log Out".

Is someone already looking into this? Thank you in advance!

UPDATE 11/27/15: The adjustments made to firewall settings did not resolve this issue. There was a temporary improvement allowing for as many as 5 character swaps to occur before being forced out of the game by a shutdown. Disregard the update above on 11/21/15, this issue is not resolved. I'm back to a forced game exit after selecting "log out", so I cannot swap between characters without logging back into the game.

Can someone please comment with help/advice? I don't know what kind of information someone might need to help troubleshoot this issue, so I'll answer any questions I can, and thanks in advance for your patience.
