    Default 12 Ranger / 5 Pali / 3 FvS - TWF build draft

    Hello,

This build is to get my FvS life done (will use a +5 heart at the end). I have lots of good light armor and pierce weapons. I could be convinced to switch to slash, but I likely won't make new GS. I do have a lot of Scimitars and Khopeshes, but much of it is pre-motu stuff.

I'm trying to push PRR and dodge as high as I can while focusing on TWF dps.

I tried Paladin levels with this one for better saves. I could swap that for up to 5 of some other class. (I think I want to stick with 12 ranger and at least 3 FvS for crit bonuses and so a single +5 will allow a FvS past life.) I am also waffling on the LOH enhancements. With a final CHA of about 38, LOH is (10 + 5 pali)*14 = 210hp. It is not huge, but my cure spells won't be amazing or anything either. So I'm undecided there.

Skills would be Heal and UMD. Then whatever, probably jump and balance.

I put in Precision, but would power attack be better?

Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack line for +7 dodge and the option for dodge upgrades in the Tempest tree. I can drop Spring Attack and Mobility depending on where the dodge cap ends up, though I expect it to be high.

Weapon focus is for +2 MP and can easily be something else.

Destinies: I have 4 twist slots. I've mostly run in DC or Shadowdancer, so this might be a chance to try LD, but I'm not really familiar with it.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

a couple of things i would change with this setup .....
1st : i would recommend to only take a max of 3 lvls of Paladin, 2 more lvls of Paladin won't bring you much really since you don't plan to take advantage of the paladin Enhancements, and with a max of +14 with cha you can't take advantage of the 5 lvls paladin to save even ....
i would with your planed setup go for 12 Ranger / 3 Paladin / 5 FvS
    - and probaly scrap most of Deepwood sniper and go for Warpriest (Amerilating String, which will take care of most healing troubles )

    2nd :enhancement's :
    a) your wasting a awful lot of dps not taking divine might (since you take FvS - lvls 4 AP in the Warpriest tree will give you Divine Might on Spellpoints)
    b) with 3 lvls or more paladin it would be a shame, to not take defensive stance (+25 to PRR & MRR) in Sacred Defender tree for just 6 AP
    c) probaly i would also takea couple of points in KotC and take the Cleave in the tree without needing to spent a feat for it

Thanks! The swap of paladin and FvS levels is pretty easy to do. I think it mostly hinges on how the AP will go. On that note, I've been digging in the Warpriest and KOTC trees. I'm having difficulty finding good ways to get to:

    1. Ameleorating strike.
    -- Core 1 - 2w attack (1AP)
    -- core 2 - DR 5/- (1)
    -- Divine might (3)
    -- Toughness (3)
    -- Wall of Steel (3)

That is 11. I need to get to 20 to take the T4 strike for a total of 22 spent in the Warpriest tree.

    2. KOTC cleaves. I really like the idea, but I don't see a lot of stuff at T1 that is worth taking on this build. Smite evil feels pretty weak on my pure paladin. None of the turn stuff will be worth taking. So it looks like spending 4 AP I don't need to get to T2. Both DM and cleave would be useful. This cleave is far superior to the feat versions.

As far as DWS, I was trying to get the +1 threat range from the 4th core. Along the way I get:
    -- core 1, 1d6 & 10 positive sp
    -- core 2, 1d6 & 10 positive sp
    -- core 3, +2w attack
-- survival line: 60 hp and 12 PRR
    -- killer: 20 doublestrike
    -- 30 mp action boost.

From tempest there are a number of things I'm not sure of yet at the T4 and T5. Ideas?

the way i would set up the AP's (i would scrap dws +1 threat range; it is good, but if using scimitars (which i would do) it isn't a build-breaking thing imo ......

    Enhancement:
    * Tempest (Rgr) - 40 AP
    * Warpriest (Fvs) - 22 AP
    Smite Foe, Resilience of Battle
Divine Might (Rank 3), Toughness (Rank 3)
Righteous Weapons (3x if using Scimitars), Smite Weakness, Wall of Steel (Rank 3)
    Strength, Ameliorating Strike (Rank 1)
    * Sacred Defender (Pal) 6 AP
    Holy Bastion, Sacred Defense
Extra Lay on Hands (Rank 1), Durable Defense (Rank 3)

either KotC or DWS 12 AP
